New Oil Rig explosion off La. Coast

What the fuck is wrong with people these days? They make these fucking things, and they work like fucking shit! It's horrible!
 
OTT thread has this as a minor accident with no oil leaking out. Then again, the last leak was only 5K gallons per day at first. So, we probably just woke up Cthulhu.

Damn oil industry. We'd better call all the troops off the border and send them to the gulf coast and start taking control of these exploding oil platforms. Especially the ones that didn't explode.

I like how the gut reaction to oil being spilled is now to pour more toxic chemicals into the ocean to get rid of it, which it doesn't even do.

Thats because the makers of those chemicals sell the idea it will work. They dont care if it does or doesnt, they care about nabbing a sweet government contract because you can charge them ungodly amounts of money and know they will pay it because they dont care about money.

Its as stupid as when they had the oil spill some jackass thought it would be a good idea to fly a blimp around in the air for constant aerial footage. Im sure they were charging 1200 dollars an hour or something for that and satellite photos could have worked just as well.
