New Radiohead album announced for release 10 days from now

The download is pay-what-you-want. So I put in free. We'll see if that still works, or if it alters the quality any, but I wouldn't expect Radiohead to do that.

Though, if it's good, I'll be getting the physical album when it's in stores.

fuck yeah! This just made my day. I'm more excited for this release than I was for Halo 3.

Wow you aren't kidding. They really are letting you decide how much you want to pay for the download.

I'm kinda curious to find out what the average price winds up being. It'd be pretty cool insight on what people are really willing to spend for a known act.

I'm guessing somewhere around £3.

EDIT: Dammit, it's slow as hell, and not working very well. Maybe I should just try later.

EDIT2: Okay, it took about six tries but it finally worked.

I'd pay for another Bends or Pablo Honey, I can't expect another OK Computer.

Anything after that isn't worth paying for to me.

I caught a show of theirs last year where they were playing a lot of the tracks that ended up on the album, and quite a few of them sound sorta like "old" Radiohead...a couple of Bends-era sounds, but most I'd place in the void between OK Computer and Kid A, in terms of how much they sound like songs (versus experimental pieces)

Hopefully they worked with Nigel Godrich again. I feel scared when people decide to work without a producer. That said, Radiohead is still the best band ever!

kinda cool hearing the studio version of Nude. I've got a bootleg of a concert of theirs from late 2001 that has the same track, only back then it was called Big Ideas. Don't know how long it was kicking around before that.
How do you download this?
Well, normally you'd go to inrainbows.com, click on pre-order next to the Download tab, click on View Basket, put in your price, pay now, and the rest should be self-explanatory. The only problem is that the website has been down most of the day, ass-pounded if you will.

The website is a complete clusterfuck. I ordered on the 9th, and never got any confirmation e-mail, and still haven't heard anything. There's no way to pull up orders, either--there is only an answer to the question, "Why haven't I received my e-mail?" that basically says it was spam-filtered or you entered your address wrong. That helps a lot, you fucks. I guess I'll just order another for free, but this pisses me off because I actually paid. I'll just stick with iTunes or torrents if this is the "future" of music.
