Hi all,

Will finally be picking up a DS for the first time due to the Pokemon release. Just wondering if there are any adventure games released for the system? i.e. something like King's Quest, Monkey Island, etc.

Thank you,

I would highly recommend the Phoenix Wright series for the DS, if something like Monkey Island is up your alley. Start with the first one, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

If you dig metroid type adventure games, I would recommend Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia.

Some other games you might like:
Zelda Phantom Hourglass
Zelda Spirit Tracks
Trauma Center Under the Knife
Yoshi's Island DS
New Super Mario Bros

Ghost Trick. Can't recommend that game enough. Plus if you get it from the capcom store you get the first Phoenix Wright

Thanks all for suggestions. A few more games to look up information about. ^__^

@johnnypark, haha, I have looked at the list. I'm still doing reading through reviews and sypnopsis for most of the games.

Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time is pretty fun. It's like Super Mario RPG if you've ever played that.

Since you mentioned adventure games, I'll second the Phoenix Wright and Ghost Trick suggestions, and add one: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. Hope you enjoy your DS, it's a great little system!

After going through the list and looking related games, I find myself intrique by the following:
- 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors
- Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
- Hotel Dusk: Room 215
- Phoenix Wright series (should I be playing them in order?)
- Professor Layton

Maybes:
- Touch Detective
- Trace Memory

Does anyone have opinions on any of the following?
- Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templar
- Last Window: The Secret of Cape West

Thank you

You should play the Phoenix Wright games in order. Get PW1 and Ghost Trick for $40 at capcom store

My wife has put in a crap load of time with puzzle quest 1 & 2.

I enjoy pokemon black, 999, DQ IX, chronotrigger, Zelda.

picklint (OP, its how I read your name) what type of DS did you get, if you got a DSL, you need to not ignore the Gameboy Advance library either. Also, I also recommend all the Dragon quests, Final Fantasies, Chrono Trigger. Also, the Dragon Quest Monsters Joker game, and the zelda games (even though the Zelda DS games are kind of meh)

@Gden: My username is a shorten version of pocket lint. I removed all the vowels. :)

I'm curious, if I wanted to play Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, would I need to play Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time?

No, you don't have to play them, but all of them are different games, and all are very fun to play, so you should still play them (also, lol, didn't see the t)
