i am seeing if anyone having an issue with their nhl 2009 disc? i've had 2 that give me a "this disc can not be read" errors when i try playin on live... all my other games work fine. rght after i got that error i popped in my CoD4 disc to just make sure it wasnt my console, and it played fine. but whenever i try playing my friend in nhl2009 on live, it gives me disc errors..

anyone else having a problem? or is it just me?

Nope, you're not the only one. I started getting the issues this afternoon after loading in a playlist for the custom music. I've found a few things on the web about it, including the EA site, regarding the issue and all suggest to 'clear the cache', which I believe would also clear any updates/patches to any other games you may have. Updates only, not saved games.

NHL 09 XBOX 360 Disc Read Error Solution - Clear the cache
http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?messageID=4188138&#4188138

On my launch console I started having disc read errors on recent releases. All previous releases were fine, but UT3 and SCIV were giving me issues. I highly suspect that Microsoft implemented a new protection scheme that they didn't fully test on old consoles or with different software configurations. I could get the games to play eventually by trying repeatedly.

I sold the console and the games, so I can't test if clearing the cache would have fixed my issues.

I had same problem returned game twice, then I finally deleted all nhl07,08 stuff, then I disabled auto-save, man I wish I would have thought of this sooner, now im ok, and between this and fifa09, my winter will be full, not counting anything else, but man what a piss off to go to the store three times (EB), luckily they treated me well, do I get a free $100 gift card for my story. j/k. how do you clear the cache again, i've never done that before?

laj22us posted a link above with the details but here it is anyway:
Hello guys,

We're getting a few reports (but not widespread) about disc read errors with NHL 09 and your XBOX 360 console.

Please follow these instructions and the solution should be fixed.

Thanks,
Crazylegs

Clear your 360 cache and it should solve the issue.

TO CLEAR YOUR CACHE:

Go to memory blade in the XBOX 360 menu and press

X,X, LB,RB,X,X
