ninja game for NES

hey guys. Sorry just one more.

Im trying to remeber what this game was. Im pretty sure it was for NES (pretty basic graphics).
you were a ninja, and the first few levels you would be jumping high up into the trees. The sky in the game was black, at least for the first few levels.
your ninja character moved a little weird to.
i think the second level had you going into some ancient japanese castle, but again, there were a bunch of trees that you would be jumping to.
This game wasnt really a platformer, I remember that it was pretty fast moving. The ninja would move very swiftly into the trees and onto buildings.
I know that this description sounds idiotic but it is the only way I can explain the game. Thanks again CAGers.
 
Did it start with a K?
My b/f had that game and beat it, but he cant remember the name either.
The first boss was a fire-breathing monk.

It wasn't either of those, but he'd recognize that name if he saw it.

Yeah, my b/f loved it too. He said it was the first NES game he got, along with Mario/Dunk Hunt. He keeps humming the theme song now and wont shut up!
