So i got rid of all my dvd players and thought to use my 360 as my player. When I popped in a dvd, there is no audio playing. Games and netflix are fine, but only dvds have no audio. I messed with the audio options in the main menu of my dvd to no avail. Also put in a few other dvds to check but sill nothing. Anyone know whats up?

Not sure if this helps but I had a similar problem when I once turned on my xbox. Everything seemed to work fine except the audio. I figured maybe something was up with the power consumption so I turned off the xbox and unplugged the kinect sensor. When I turned it back on the audio came back.

I had a similar problem that got cleared up after I cleared the cache. I don't know if they're related, I don't see how they can be but it worked for me.

Are you using a HDMI cable?
When you say no sound you mean completely silent, or does it make a hissing noise?

That is kind of a strange issue. Are you using some kind of stereo or sound system with the tv? Or just going through the TV speakers?

Yeah, post your setup. How is the XBOX connected to the recevier or the TV directly?

Clearing the cache is a simple test also as someone stated.
