I saw Meteos at Fry's and Best Buy yesterday while looking for CAT5 cables. I didn't bite as I had it pre-ordered ay my local Gamestop. I got a call last night from the wierdo Gamestop lady (actually a synthesized recording) telling me it will be in. So I go in today after work and BAM...

No game. They tell me it's 'active' but probably won't get it till Thursday. By that time, I'll be at the lake for the weekend...

Why do I pre-order? Am I a sucker for the hype. I live in Los Angeles. there are six or seven gamestop within ten miles, and at least 4 EBs, not to mention other retail stores...

I can understand not pre-ordering most games. I stopped doing that after Final Fantasy VIII. But I'd suggest keeping the pre-order in mind, as certain games like Lunar 2, Wind Waker, and soon Twilight Princess have bonuses. Ghaleon Punching Puppet was WAY worth it.

just buy it at Frys where you saw it and cancel your preorder and get your $5.00 or whatever you put down on it back.

I've seen the Ghaleon Punching Puppet go for .25 cents on eBay, and NO one bid. :\

Well, if you plan on buying a game at launch for any reason, there really is no reason not to preorder. Especially considering alot of times you get goodies.
