I went over to a Ebgames and they had it for 44.99 used complete. Well i ran over to a pawn shop to see what they got in stock and they had a game that FETCHED 20 bucks at ebgames. game cost me 12

SO i took Disgaea up ran up 44.99
THe game i traded in Ran up 20 bucks

SO total was 24.99 and then i used my EDGE card what took another 4.50 off

Total 20.49 + tax but i gave them my Edge card back that had store credit on it and the TAX disappeared.

so out of pocket

12 for pawn game and 20.49 for the Disgaea game (i put the 1 year warrenty on it for 3 bucks since it sort of rare game and i would of blew that 3 running to another ebgame 50 miles away for this game,..

so total was like 35 bucks for a complete Disgaea

Was just wondering DOES the EDGE card take the tax off all the time cause if so the edge card if you got credit on it would pay for itself at one time

Trade in 50 bucks of games then buy 50 bucks of games

Edge would knock 5 bucks off and another 3 bucks off in taxes so in one purchase you would almost doubled your cost

EDIT: only problem is i called 3 other ebgames and all 2 of the 3 had a used copy of this game (they never did before) SO I wonder if they are making this game again or they are just finding old copies lying around ... around XMAS you couldnt find this game anyplace now there is 4 places in the city that had it... So i wonder if this game will STAY RARE of if it will become more common......

I had to buy it since i love this game I got Phatom brave and cant really stand it (since your people leave the battle feild after so many turns) I also rented La Tactics ( sort of dislike it and i heard it has no replay vaule) I still might buy LA TACTICS so i will have all 3

Any time you use an Edge card with trade in credit on it, you will not be charged tax for whatever your buying.

I don't know if it is nationwide, but it seems like in most states, you are not taxed on tradein credit. If you move the money over to a giftcard then you are taxed.

I haven't seen an Edge with a pin #, but others say they have them . . . so, if I want to buy online then I lose the tax advantage.

Are you saying that if I had a trade in credit on my Edge card of $1 and used it, there would be no tax charged on the whole order? If so, that would be crazy (and I would think super-illegal on EB's part).

You bought a warranty on a game? I think thats the biggest scam ever. I have over 500 games and have never needed a "warranty" on any of them. Besides what are they going to do replace your broken Disgaea if it breaks in 10 years? Good luck finding one!

it was only 3 bucks and not any bigger of a rip off then the gas pumps these days :)...

I was going to spend 3 bucks running to another EBGames that had one but i would of spend at least 3 bucks on gas getting there so i figure i got the thing for free.

Slide, did you find your lost PS2?

Warning:

Disgaea won't fit in your cube. IKIK

i never lost my PS2 (it was an xbox i didnt know i didnt have :)

now to figure out how to open up the other worlds ... I will mostly just keep the game back as a collectors item and play it from time to time. I got to remember not to play it now casue if i do it will suck up all my time like 3 weeks ago .. still got to try to play

GOD OF WAR, SHinning tears and Sega ages collection

Got to love the E coupons from Blockbuster online and use them at other stores that accept other stores coupons .

No, you are not charged tax on the portion that is paid via credt.

example:
$40 purchase with $20 credit and $20 cash

you would pay tax on $20 of it

What game got you $20 in credit at EB?

Also, I'm guessing that people are trading in their copies that they got for $5 at EB, which was marked down awhile ago. That might explain why the stores have them now.
