“I am 90 years old and I just wanted to ask the colored man, why don’t colored people, instead of saying what we did to them, why dont they say what we did for them? They talk about the slavery, but since then they have given them welfare, free medicine, free everything.”

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/90-year-...ank-white-people-for-welfare-free-everything/

So what's the verdict? Why should we focus on the bad all the time? Why not focus on the good, the fact that we give black people EVERYTHING all the time? It's really unfair how we're so pessimistic and we always focus on that whole slavery thing.

Did your ancestors sign up to be the cruise directors?
Did your ancestors sign up to be the cruise directors?
No, my ancestors were too busying being slaughtered or rounded up and sent on death marches to the west with small pox infected blankets.

Well the reason they dont talk about the stuff they do get is because if they acknowledged it it would make them a hypocrite. "Yes we demand to be treated equal to a white man!.......oh wait what about black college funds, or special entrance exceptions into college programs and all that?....sshhhh we just wont bring it up"

They also dont talk about it because they just want to complain like every human does. They want to bitch and whine about things they dont really care about and never happened to them personally. Its just convienent for them is all.
Did your ancestors sign up to be the cruise directors?
My ancestors were to busy trying to survive because english parliment was limiting importing/exporting to ireland in a move to try and weaken the people and were on the verge of provoking war again.

Even if my ancestors were slavers Im not exactly sure how that means that I am responsible for what they did since slavery started in the 1700s and it became illegal in like 1860 something and probablly took another 30 years or so before it really did start to stop. So even then my grandma was probablly a baby at best, long after it became illegal. So again, not sure how it applies to me since I dont personally own any slave, or ever have.

Not to mention the black people around now didnt go through it so why exactly do they deserve anything? The people who were treated poorly by slavery are all long dead now. Thats as fucking stupid as me suing a guy who beat up my great great grandfather for a million dollars.

Black people today do not deserve anything because of slavery. But most of them want something because they are fucking lazy and stupid, yeah I said it. I mean most humans are but the black in this country have a excuse to bitch and they milk it for everything they can.

But they all want to be treated special which goes against wanting to be treated equal. Black people are all about equal rights, fair treatment and all that but at the same time they want their own holiday, they want black college funds, they want black this and black that, they want slavery museums to remind us they were treated bad and all that shit. Well I hate to break it them but that stuff doesnt mean they are treated equal, it means they are treated special. Even black college funds are racist because you have to be black to get the money.

Hopefully your ancestors had the decency to return those blankets. Ideally after they'd been washed.

Does anyone actually read any of gargus' posts? I don't have him on ignore but I just skim right over his posts.

Oh, I skim the shit out of them, but nevertheless find something...eye opening...in every one of them.

It doesn't help that I grew up in Florence, KY, where he is from, so I am far too familiar with the quality of idiocy he brings to the table. The official language spoken in Florence is Herpa Derpa.

I've never actually met ANYONE in my entire life who had a gripe about slavery and I've been with and around a variety of black people since early childhood.

Black society as a whole has its own baggage and problems without slavery even needing to be brought up. Let's focus on the *actual* negative aspects instead of what some buffoon who is clearly out of touch with reality thinks.

- edit I also love how racists forget about segregation which lasted until the 1960s

Ah. So it comes naturally.

Do you not realize that those things were put into place to try and make it equal? Black History Month, because they weren't teaching any of that in school. Black college funds, because little to no funds were given to blacks. BET, "well I would be called racist if I wanted a WET channel! you already have WET, it's called every other channel on TV"

Also lol at you getting mad they have slavery museums. What's next? Gonna get mad at the Jews for having a Holocaust museum?

How dare those people not forget that anything happened and accept the world as equal, as-is

You're never going to convince certain people that America isn't the land of opportunity for everyone. This is another vs. black hole.

So how long does slavery and the holocaust have to be harped on before things are equal? The next two hundred years?

Who's harping on slavery or the holocaust?

I don't see any of those reasons being slavery. They all seem to be attempts to fill in things that were missing.

Let's see... 9/11 was about 9 years ago. Several people say we need to just get over it already. Nearly 3,000 died. So, it's about one year for every 333 1/3 people who died.

On the high end, 17 million died in the Holocaust. It ended in 1945. So, in about 52,945, we can stop worrying about the Holocaust.

Where the hell did you get 17 million? Out of your ass? It was 6 million. Oh and that was on the low end of casualties. 30 to 40 million Russians and Chinese also died in that conflict. Thanks for playing Conservative Bullshit Roulette.

how dare you make me defend bob

Some scholars maintain that the definition of the Holocaust should also include the Nazis' systematic murder of millions of people in other groups, including Romani, people with disabilities, Soviet prisoners of war, Polish and Soviet civilians, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses and other political and religious opponents. By this definition, the total number of Holocaust victims would be between 11 million and 17 million people.

But let's go with the 6 Million number... The year 19945 would be when we could all just "get over" the Holocaust. (Using the fake 9/11 formula, of course).

At that rate, are we going to include all the people in the Middle-east, Africa, and Asia as well? It's only fair if we're going to include all European deaths into the Holocaust. The policies of the Japanese were no less brutal.

I'm not really going to debate what the exact number of deaths was or what the true definition of the Holocaust is. Even more so based off of an off-hand comment that spun into a fake formula that, even if it did apply, would mean that, on the low end, we wouldn't be able to "get over" the Holocaust in our life time (or even before the human race likely dies out).

6 million Jews or 17 million people.... or anywhere in between. Either way, it was pretty horrific.

Yes, I too hate it when a group of people whose entire culture was systematically mutilated over centuries and continues to be passive-aggressively mauled in daily life complains.

Because gosh darn it, when they complain, I can hear it! That makes my life SO much harder!

Damn, it's like none of you know how shit works. For hundreds of years black people constantly bitched about their positions under slavery and segregation, then in the 60s they finally stopped talking about it, then bam, they got rights. Same for women, who were bound to being housewives and low-wage workers until they finally just shut up about it and then they started getting paid more and having more prestigious jobs.

And if the dude at McDonald's fucks up your order, for the love of god don't say anything about it, and then as soon as you don't say anything I'm sure you'll get exactly what you wanted.
No, my ancestors were too busying being slaughtered or rounded up and sent on death marches to the west with small pox infected blankets.
Shit. At least you guys got to walk in the fresh air and sunshine. My ancestors couldn't move or see sunshine for weeks on their free cruise.

What is black society? It's just another way of grouping black people in society. There are certain issues that black people face in society that only pertain to them.
So I guess nobody will define what 'black society' is. Okay. Can someone define what 'white society' is?
every other channel on TV?

One thing I've always wondered, if you belong to a portion of society that remains mostly marginalized for political profit, why keep voting in people that continue to fascilitate the welfare system that prevents you from being able to do anything about your situation?

If you could figure out things like that, you probably wouldn't be on welfare.
