I bought a 360 last week, and this morning while playing Dead Rising is made a strange noise so I immediately turned the system off. Now when I turn it back on there's no red lights of doom, but it will not read the disk. The disk is fine, and I'm not getting a read error. After putting the disk in it will say 'Reading' then about 30 seconds later it will act as though there's no disk in the tray. How screwed am I? I have a product replacement plan with Gamestop, but I've also played far enough in the couple games that I have to not want and start all over.

So take the system and get it switched at Gamestop but ask them to switch out the hard drives so you won't lose any saves.

Sounds like your DVD drive is toast. Buy a memory card and backup your saved games to it then return it, or ask Gamestop if thye will let you keep the hard drive of your old unit and put it on the new one.

Wasn't sure if Gamestop would let me do that. Thank you for the advice I'll try that, I got a premium so I wouldn't have to buy a memory card but if that's what it takes then that's what I'll do.

Thank you Scorch and Ruined.
