"We are under no illusion that somehow the federal government can spend its way out of this recession, but it is absolutely true that any of the ideas that have been mentioned here are still going to require some public dollars and those are actually good investments to make right now,"

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama outlined new multibillion-dollar stimulus and jobs proposals Tuesday, saying the nation must continue to "spend our way out of this recession" until more Americans are back at work.
Without giving a price tag, Obama proposed a package of new spending for highway, bridge and other infrastructure projects, deeper tax breaks for small businesses and tax incentives to encourage people to make their homes more energy efficient.

I would love to know what our plan is. Or as of tomorrow will we no longer be in a recession?

It's a perfectly valid concern. We're spending too much money that we don't actually have setting ourselves up for massive inflation down the line. If the U.S. credit rating falls from AAA, we're in deep trouble.

Alright I'll concede that your post was not trolling, but in general you are known as 'the troll' on the vs. forum. I guess because you got negative feedback or some shit, I dunno.

Silly perdition(troy, it's much better when you use the actual quote:

OBAMA ON TUESDAY: "Even as we have had to spend our way out of this recession in the near term, we have begun to make the hard choices necessary to get our country on a more stable fiscal footing in the long run."

OBAMA, LAST WEEK: "We are under no illusion that somehow the federal government can spend its way out of this recession, but it is absolutely true that any of the ideas that have been mentioned here are still going to require some public dollars and those are actually good investments to make right now," — Remarks at a White House jobs forum.

There are significant deflationary pressures as well. It's not a one way street or we'd already be out of control.

oooooh, a "gotcha" moment! How precious!

Two sentences! How complexly thought through and stunning! My soul is stirred and my spirit is singing!

Don't blame Obama. His right teleprompter doesn't know what his left teleprompter is doing.

What this episode really proves is what we all knew: Obama talks too much.

I love anything like that from Palin, she doesn't realize how much she's an idiot. She really just sign on SNL to save it or at least revive funny for them.
Why was he calling her Governor Palin?
The same reason why people still call Bill Clinton Mr. President even though he's not the President anymore.
Why was he calling her Governor Palin?
Because she's the governor of the hearts and minds of America.

I tried to edit that post but i guess it didn't work. I've never heard former governors still referred to as governor.

i dont believe theres any set etiquette for that. im fairly certain that calling former presidents president still is a relatively new practice.

Huckabee is on the Daily Show all the time and Stewart always refers to him as Governor Mike Huckabee.

I guess maybe everyones issue with Palin is that she quit, and thats seems like a valid issue to me.

Bolded the irony.

No... I still have to see both of them in a new Star Trek movie.

The government stole it from the military. People generally still use their rank when they retire. That's why the retards at Faux News fawn all over the former generals are always going, "Well general, what should we really be doing in Iraq." Then you get some dipshit answer for the guy that used to be a general for the weather service.

I believe former Presidents starting using it first and other government types like Senators and Governors started using it because it's like being an elected official for life. Also, you never have to worry about actually voting for anything or taking a stand on any important issues.
