Seems true enough. It really is sad to see Obama and McCain fall. I mean I am not religious at all but I meditate before bed in a way that is similar to others praying(calms my mind and helps me fall asleep). When I would meditate I would think God let it be Obama and McCain in the fall. Besides the fact that Romney/Guillliani/Thompson and Clinton are all horribly corrupt and disgusting people that I would hate to see in office....I also thought that Obama and McCain were extremely fine respectable politicians with maybe some questionable events in their backgrounds but by and large would have a respectful run.

McCain fell first and hardest(though Obamas cowardice on the town halls didn't help)but even if Obama didn't jump off a cliff like McCain did he has been on a steady landslide downward into the ugly side of politics. Its sad to see what could have been a moment in time that changed both our politics and our nation become more of the same.

Really, this is hardly surprising. When it is the same people who are running these campaigns who have run past campaigns (especially McCain). The thing is that these things have worked against Democrats in the past so way not try it against Republicans.

I read this and was a little dismayed as well. I am a strong supporter of Obama, obviously, but that doesn't mean I can't see when he's fucked up, and here he has clearly crossed an unfortunate line. Obviously, I'm not in a position to make apologies for what his campaign does, but it would have been nice if he could have avoided petty shit like this (McCain was certainly engaging in enough of it for both of them).

Kind of surprising. After Biden coming out and saying some ads in the past "may have gone too far," I expected them to keep a better eye on their ad content. I understand that it can be frustrating to see McCain gain ground by peddling massive amounts of bullshit ["the advertisement ... prompted PolitiFact to deliver its worst rating, “Pants on Fire,” to Mr. Obama for the first time (as opposed to six times for Mr. McCain). The “Pants on Fire” rating is defined as, “not just false, but ridiculously false,” Mr. Adair said.] and that Democrats have played Charlie Brown to the Republican's Lucy time and again, just to watch them pull the football away the instant both parties promise to play fair, but at the end of the day, the Obama campaign doesn't *need* to distort the facts. The reality should be enough for any cognizant voter.

Biden also called one ad "terrible."

I don't see why Obama has to do this. Attack ads were working for McCain for a minute, but (1) that may have been a collinear relationship with American's crush on Sarah Palin. Now that that's dwindled, so has his approval/advantage over Obama. Also, (2) this kind of political-ads-as-usual doesn't jive with the "change" and "hope" mantras.

Well, they aren't exactly lies.

Example) Obama says in ad "McCain has stood in the way of stem cell research"

-This isn't technically a lie because McCain DID "stand in the way of it" until 2001 when he began to support it.
One could argue that he slowed down/delayed scientific progress that could have been made with stem cell research all that time he opposed it before he changed his mind. Making this significant if other similar situations were to arise. (Also, Palin is against stem cell research. So, if McCain passes away and she becomes numero uno...)

McCain also told the wall street Journal he still wants to propose privatizing SS despite the opposite being said on his website and that he would have to "get around to changing the info on the site to reflect his true position" http://www.aflcio.org/issues/politics/mccain_retirement.cfm
So, who knows about that one...

Also, the pants on fire one was for the Limbaugh quotes right? That one is really the only bad one. That one doesn't make much sense and shouldn't have been aired, I agree.
Lol at "mediate" and talking to an imaginary friend before bed. Lulz all around on this one.
I have no problem if someone wants to pray to a totally benevolent "imaginary friend" before bed...

as long as they are not giving praise and singing adoration to a malevolent imaginary friend
