Ask for the pictures then. Did he say what was wrong with the item? It's definitely going to go to arbitration but I wonder if its shitty luck. I know if I sold my DR2 LE right now i'd prob get an angry email about the coin being messed up

Was your 30-day return policy visibly mentioned in your listing? If so, he doesn't really have much of a leg to stand on.

you're fine, for filing a claim, the buyer needs to contact you within 14 days of receipt if the item is damaged/defective and have the item postmarked back to you within 30. I had a buyer get his claim denied because he contacted me 4 weeks after purchase.

So when a hot Item is first listed as available for Pre-Order on a site im thinking of just updating the Thread Title at the end to "Regulars Check PM" with a time stamp at the end and posting CHeck Pms in here as a post and that way when a hot item is first available for pre-order i will do a mass Group PM To the regulars and active Contributors of the Thread with the Link info of that item giving those members a head up first and then a hour or 2 later posting the link in this thread for all to see.

So what everyone opinion on this idea? cause this sold out within minutes stuff lately due to resellers and hoarders is getting ridiculous

I tend to be quiet on these forums, but I am an avid follower and have been for years. It would be cool if this could be done, but unless you were somehow able to really manage the PM list, I think it would get out of control too quickly. It is scary how fast stuff disappears now and I know I can't watch all day every day for anything to be released. You would almost need an exclusive forum that required some type of requirement to access. Tough situation either way.

Well depends on what's considered regulars, I think this sounds like a good idea, but at the same time, once stuff makes it to SD (which it still can even with out leaking from here) then it's over shortly after. I do think it could help though, I would have certainly missed the LE MM figurine at BBY if it were not for the decent people on here and then I wouldn't have my copy to display. I just hope that, should this be the route you take, none of those who get PMs abuse that privilege either! Think of what uncle Ben would say!

I don't see any mention of the game being included, just the console/statue/charger...EDIT: nevermind I see it now. However, I don't mind that because it costs WAY more than console and the LE of the game would cost separately.

The more I look at the MM Edition and the MH Edition of the N3DSXL, the more I get annoyed with the fact that the artwork on the front cover will be upside down both when you play the game and when you place it into the vertical charger. That seems a little short sighted to me.

I like dreamers idea about the PM to notify regulars about listings. I also agree with others that it might not help much but could help some. I also agree with those that say CAG has seem to become the new SD (look at the ps4 LE thread for example). A lot of talk about reselling and flipping here recently then when I first started frequenting the site. I used to post a decent amount but now only post usually if I have a question about something.
 
After hearing some the opinions about the PM ideas here some thoughts and also reply to some questions that i will just post here since there to many posts to reply to:

1. By compiling a list of the Main Regulars and Contributors i could just save the list in a word document and then just copy and paste that list into a group PM when needed so it wont take long

2. To the one who said just made the thread private unless you sign in: unfortunely a feature like that is not available due to the way the site is programed.

3. Those those that ask what about new followers or members? well in that case they can contribute and become more active in the thread and also other parts of CAG and as time goes by they can earn there self a spot on the PM group List just like with a job you start out doing this and that with small benefits then as time go by at that job and you show your work then you move up with more benefits

4. and as far as the comments about the other threads of CE & LE popping up, maybe if i do decide to go this route i could message CheapyD and talk with him about limiting those threads to only this thread since this is a dedicated CE/LE Thread anyhow and it would limit clutter of the Deals Forum as well as limit the threads from running off topic to a crazy amount like the MM thread did which would make it easier for Mods to control anyhow. 

5. And someone mentioned about what if someone broke the silence and spilled the beans about the links or heads up. In that case then whoever broke that trust would be removed from the group PM list for any future deals. Also anyone who known to hoard for resell purposes would also not be added to the list. 

5. ALSO KEEP IN MIND WHAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS IDEA IS, IS JUST TO GIVE A HOUR OR 2 HOUR MAX HEADS UP TO THOSE WHO REALLY WANT THE CE'S/LE'S FOR THERESELVES AND AFTER THAT 1 OR 2 HOUR HEADUP THE LINKS WOULD THEN BE POSTED FOR EVERYONE TO SEE ANYHOW.

He doesn't care as long as people click on affilate links, that's what this this site is for. They have sub-forums you can go to if you want and report your finds there instead of the main threads but nothing is going to change to make you feel better about yourself or how you view things.

EDIT: After reading some more post....

@dreamer, there used to be private forums but those got locked away with CAG 3.0, if you really want to keep things quite with limited users you can always create an msn group, google group, or something along those lines. Those are still private right?

Count me in then. Gives a fair chance to the real fans I would say. Would certainly cut out a lot of the "har har I has 10 you has none. I sell for $200 moar!"
 
Sounds good to me. The only problem is you won't really know if someone is buying 1 for themselves only and not taking 10 of them. Sure you can take their word but as Dr. Gregory House always said, "everybody lies."

I was able to get 1 ordered in store and then another ordered from BB. I also ordered a MH one for my wife. So I will have 1 extra MM edition. I think I might give it to my 4 year nephew for his Bday. He has been a lifelong fan of Zelda since he was 2 years old

 
Of course he wouldnt. He needs the revenue generated by those links in the topic to continue to keep CAG operational. 

On other forums I have seen the ability to:

1) Hide topics to be viewable by members only

2) Use tags to hide sections in posts to be viewable by members only (like spoiler tags).

(Example: http://www.vietvbb.vn/up/showthread.php?t=18645 and the IP Board version: http://invisionmodding.com/tutorials/article/379-hide-hackthanks/ & http://invisionmodding.com/topic/28221-ipboard-23-hide-hackthanks/

Either of those features would work, we just need to push for CAG to code/implement them. At the very least it may bring more members to the site -- though I am sure the affiliate links bring in a lot more money than the ad venue.

After hearing some the opinions about the PM ideas here some thoughts and also reply to some questions that i will just post here since there to many posts to reply to:

1. By compiling a list of the Main Regulars and Contributors i could just save the list in a word document and then just copy and paste that list into a group PM when needed so it wont take long

2. To the one who said just made the thread private unless you sign in: unfortunely a feature like that is not available due to the way the site is programed.

3. Those those that ask what about new followers or members? well in that case they can contribute and become more active in the thread and also other parts of CAG and as time goes by they can earn there self a spot on the PM group List just like with a job you start out doing this and that with small benefits then as time go by at that job and you show your work then you move up with more benefits

4. and as far as the comments about the other threads of CE & LE popping up, maybe if i do decide to go this route i could message CheapyD and talk with him about limiting those threads to only this thread since this is a dedicated CE/LE Thread anyhow and it would limit clutter of the Deals Forum as well as limit the threads from running off topic to a crazy amount like the MM thread did which would make it easier for Mods to control anyhow.

5. And someone mentioned about what if someone broke the silence and spilled the beans about the links or heads up. In that case then whoever broke that trust would be removed from the group PM list for any future deals. Also anyone who known to hoard for resell purposes would also not be added to the list.

5. ALSO KEEP IN MIND WHAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS IDEA IS, IS JUST TO GIVE A HOUR OR 2 HOUR MAX HEADS UP TO THOSE WHO REALLY WANT THE CE'S/LE'S FOR THERESELVES AND AFTER THAT 1 OR 2 HOUR HEADUP THE LINKS WOULD THEN BE POSTED FOR EVERYONE TO SEE ANYHOW.

You're prob not gonna accept me since you read the amiibo thread but I'm in if you want me. Still believe that if you start locking other threads to prevent the flow of information, you're gonna rub people the wrong way, not just by lurkers but also newbies and that's if I get accepted or not.

I don't think it's too bad of an idea, though not sure if I'm classified as a "regular" (I have contributed some deals in the past but I tend to be a lurker). I like it because I find getting a PM as a notification of a deal is convenient since I will get an email and don't have to keep looking at cag all the time. However not sure that you should wait to post it, everyone should still have a chance to get it, just send out a PM first before posting so that we get a heads up instead of having to be on the forums when the deal goes live. If anything maybe delay it by 15-30 mins but probably no more than that. I do understand hoarders/scalpers are a problem but there are also people who just want a copy for themselves. Up to you what you want to do though.

You could also share the list of members through something like google drive so that if someone else found the deal they could send out an alert. Once again though, up to you.


 
How about we just keep this a news thread and not a discussion of rarity and/or value speculation thread.

Most people don't have any interest in a CE until they see dozens of people pissed that they missed out or people screenshot sold listings on eBay. IMHO it's the discussion that is more toxic then the announcements themselves... unfortunately people like to pat themselves on the back too much on this (and other sites) and get some sort of sense of self worth by letting everyone know what they bought and what they plan on doing with it.

This isn't the first and won't be the last time a CAG has proposed and/or created some sort of exclusive club to keep out undesirables. It would definitely turn people off who aren't considered worthy of being included and most likely wouldn't be that effective at keeping out resellers. Dreamer is on top of a lot of deals, but lets not pretend like he is the only one here who pays attention, not to mention someone on the PM list could easily post the deal on an alternate account and take credit for it if dreamer does PM before it is posted elsewhere. Slickdeals gets blamed for a lot, but there are plenty of people on this site with the same attitudes, they are just mostly smart enough to not brag about their hoarding/reselling here. It only takes 1 person to post it.

I see a lot of people posting that they are at work or sleeping and deals are sold out by the time they see it and are able to order. A PM list might help some people in those situations, but probably not a lot.

Not that you need their approval or help, but I would also think that CheapyD and mods will not be supportive of this and their help should not be expected in shutting down other threads just because this thread exists. Cheapy wants eyes on the site and the individual threads are popular. We're talking about maybe helping a handful of people hand picked by 1 user as being worthy while shutting out lots of legitimate buyers just because they don't post all the time. I think dreamer has good intentions trying to help people, but I also see this rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.

Nintendo could just solve this problem by keeping up with demand on their products, but we all know that is unlikely to happen. The Majora's Mask collector edition game and console sold out so fast, I'm not sure anything could be done to help much outside of Nintendo getting their shit together and those 2 items are obviously why this is being discussed.

 
But in all seriousness... what games are we butt hurt over?

The only one I can think of is MM LE (game). Everyone will have plenty of more opportunities to pick up the console.

Are there games I am missing? I preorder just about everything because I have a sickness (this includes obscure NIS titles) and honestly I can't think of anything that people would have missed out on if they check the site daily for 2 minutes.

On other forums I have seen the ability to:

1) Hide topics to be viewable by members only

2) Use tags to hide sections in posts to be viewable by members only (like spoiler tags).

Either of those features would work, we just need to push for CAG to code/implement them. At the very least it may bring more members to the site -- though I am sure the affiliate links bring in a lot more money than the ad venue.

I think your are right on that because that is the main reason I signed up too. I like the old CAG way better!!! I hardly look on here because the deals just fly by so fast nowadays. Working a job that does not let you have your phone with you or access to the internet until after hours takes me out of most deals:( Atleast I have a job thou:)

Well I bugged Josh again today and here was his response:

"We are awaiting arrival for the replacement pieces. We will be shipping out the pieces individually, and not as an entire unit. I will reach out to you for your shipping information once we begin the shipping process. If you have any other questions and/or concerns, feel free to reach out anytime!

Thank you for your patience and understanding."

To put it into context, I specifically asked him about their shipping plans since I told him how I was concerned that somebody from their warehouse was going to simply ship the CE's as one whole unit again.

yeah the only ones I can think of that sold out pretty fast are the Nintendo crap (cuz Nintendo is gonna Nintendo), the 20th anniversary PS4 (which was orderable for at least an hour, but you had to fight the website), Batman Batmobile edition, and maybe Witcher 3 CE (which is in stock at walmart right now!). I'm not a huge collector (wife makes me throw stuff out) and I got Titanfall CE, Destiny Ghosts, AC4, AC5, Bioshock Infinite, and a few other things months after release for 50-75% off.

i do wish someone would just start banning people who talk about reselling, how much money they are going to make, etc. most of us here are just buying for ourselves and wanna talk about whether the game is good, worth it, how crappy the CE items are, etc. wading through a dozen posts of name calling on both sides gets tiresome.

Thanks for following up. I got relatively lucky and only had one piece damaged and some damage to the case, so it will be nice to get those replaced.

You're welcome. You were quite fortunate. I had 3 broken pieces and that does not even include my cracked display nor the gold trim of my box that broke off.

Yes they were, and I preferred it that way too. Now anybody can lurk here without even signing up to the website.

Bad packing. They took a plastic case and filled it with plastic items that were not really properly secured. Then they put that case in a clear plastic sleeve and then into a fairly thin box with no padding or space. Essentially, every bump and jolt experienced by that box as it went through the UPS process ended up jogging pieces loose inside the plastic case and over time, items ended up cracking or breaking and the outer plastic cases ended up cracking or loosing trim pieces that were glued on. While the components of the CE were of pretty poor quality anyway, the lack of padding in both the CE itself and the shipping box probably did most of the damage as the CE was being shipped.

Huh, maybe I'm wrong then. I pre-ordered mine this morning at Nintendo World and I specifically asked them to make sure I was getting the LE since it only cost $60. The guy at the counter said the game itself is only around $50 which is why the bundle is so cheap. Maybe he was wrong? If so then this is gonna get sold out faster than MM.

Those people suck the fun out of all things gaming. Every damn thing is a cash grab. They never take the time to enjoy these games and miss out on the experiences that I have with my wife and kids.
