I have an honest to God question about the ESRB and ratings.
Will someone tell me how Halo gets a rated M with alien blood and blood from a character that never reveals himself as human while a game like Burnout 2 and 3 is rated E when you're causing multi-car pileups, flaming wrecks and exploding vehicles?
I fail to see how that makes sense.

You know what makes even less sense is how the watchdog groups make their decision's about what is the most violent.
Take a look at this report from IGN about what the groups call the worst ones
Halo 2? Shadow Hearts? Even Hitman 4 which isn't even out for months yet. Yes those games have violence in them, but the worst ones? I think we can all find 2 or 3 games not on that list that are at least a little more violent than Halo 2 or Shadow Hearts that were released this year, but these are held up as the worst? I just dont' get it.
I honestly have to ask about "Shadow Hearts". Last time I rembered playing it the only REALLy bloody parts tended to be in the cutscenes or maybe I'm wrong. I'm wondering if they just LOOKED at the cover and saw it had an M rating and decided to go with it.
Honestly I'm surprised they didn't go for SMT: Nocturne and I'd like to say I guess they thought it was too obscure but then look at them mentioning SH.
These idiots are so obvious though. Overall they're going for the games that get the most publicity and sell the most units. If they really gave a shit they'd do thorough research and list ALL the games they find to be especially deserving of the AO rating or whatever. I don't think DOAXB touches that for the most part. They also covered "Guy Game". Uhhh I'm sorry but I don't consider that popular.
Oh and PAD as for your comments as long as it doesn't involve human characters it's a-ok with them. chuckles.
Look at "Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy". This game is rated "T" for teen. Seriously parents need to do their research and play the games for themselves because sometimes the ratings err on the side of being TOO strong. They need to have like a midrange between E and T. Even "T" isn't really bad for most games IMO.
