I received a shirt described to be in "Excellent - Like New" condition. The shirt itself is in great shape, but there is a name very legibly written on the label. After sending two emails to the seller and receiving no response to either, I opened a dispute and requested a 50% refund, which I think is reasonable, but I wanted some input here, in case I'm overreacting.

It's just a name on the label, it's not like it's visible. But the seller really should have mentioned that somewhere. You may be overreacting a bit but if the shirt means that much to you that's justifiable.

I'm guessing a shirt bought on ebay is one that is of the collectible nature. That is, I don't think anybody buys their street clothes on ebay (but I could be wrong).

That being said, if it's a promotional or collection shirt, I would think contacting the seller is more than fair.

Yeah, you don't want something with someone else's name on it. And you have tried contacting them. So you are justified.

If you are going to wear it, I'd say you're over reacting. If it's a collerctor's item, then its justified. However, the seller should have noted it and I don't blame you for trying to get some of the purchase price back.

I don't think you are over-reacting, things like that are annoying as fuck imo. The first thing on your mind whenever you wear that shirt is going to be that someone wore it 10 times before you did. It's going to be a funny situation if anyone ever looks at the tag and asks you who Bob is =). Well, unless your name is in fact Bob, then they'll ask you why the fuck you put your name on your shirts.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It seems like most support my decision. The fact that the seller didn't respond to 2 of my emails was upsetting. Also, I get the feeling the seller described the item to be "Like New" in a deliberate attempt to mislead because, admittedly, a name on the label isn't a huge deal and maybe I'm expected to just ignore it. I'll update this thread with the status of the dispute if anyone's interested later.
You are highly overreacting. Seriously? A name on a label no one will see?
Its almost as bad as specifically knowing who banged your gf prior to you.
