Trying to decide between which one to purchase... they seem like similar games (turret defense / 3rd person action hybrid games).

I did really dig the demo for OMD, but I guess I'll wait for the DD demo to come out.

Anyone else in a similar dilemma? Which are you buying?

i'm basically going to buy the one that any one of my other friends will end up getting. They both look great, this new genere of tower defense is catching on. From what i've seen OMD will probably be more enjoyable in solo play vs. DD. DD almost screams you only want to play and enjoy this in co-op.

...the other thing being, there's still so many triple A titles coming out now and in a month, I might just wait for these games to go on sale.

played the Demo, was a blast...literally, if you can get it cheaper just get it for PC on Steam or something. There doesn't seem to be any co op for OMD either. Ultimately I may end up getting both though I'll just wait for them to go on sale 1st.

Yeah, there's no co-op for OMD, which is my only real problem with it because it just feels like it would have been a perfect fit for co-op. I'm hoping they'll release a DLC with co-op instead of releasing a new version.

even if the co op was watered down like PvZ or Deathspank, playing as a local minion who just helps by doing melee/ranged or spell attacks would be a solid addition. the game has a lot of charm and reminds me almost like a Double Fine type of game + dragon slayer from Disney.

the victory dance so far in teh demo is my favorite. (that and multiple arrow traps)

I totally agree, I would totally do with just having co-op with a friend playing as one of the game's guardians. The game does have charm, but the full game doesn't really have as much as any Double Fine games and the story bits are really spread out and underwhelming, but the gameplay makes up for it completely.

Just got done playing both demos:

Played DD first as the warrior (to keep things similar). I got so bored of the slow sluggish movement and constant maze walking. I don't think I even finished the entire demo.

Then played OMD, and thought "now THIS is more like it!" Smooth, arcade-like, very intuitive on-the-fly trap placement, and just really fun. By the end of the demo I was sad that it was over. I may even play the demo again to try different trap layouts.

TL;DR:
DD = deleted from hard drive, never to be seen again.
OMD = will definitely buy when it goes on sale for

I own both full games but haven't played DF too much yet while I did complete OMD!

They are different yet similar, OMD! is more tower defense with the action combat aspect whereas DF has a heavier emphasis on the RPG gameplay which in turn affects the tower defense aspect. DF also is a lot more in-depth since there are different characters and since you level up your character, more of an incentive to keep replaying. However, so far OMD! has a much more interesting set of traps and although it's limited to single player, it's quite fun IMO.
