Ordered on 12/6 from Circuit City

Does anyone have experience w/ online orders from CC? I placed a Wii order yesterday (thanks to www.refreshthing.com/wii) during a 5 minute or so window when they had them in. I got the order confirmation e-mail, but haven't gotten any more info since then. I'm waiting with baited breath for the shipping conf to show up in my in-box and am starting to get worried that they may cancel my order. Does anyone know if this type of delay is typical of orders from CC.com?

Thanks...

I've ordered bunches of stuff from them online. Typically it takes about 24 to 48 hours to get a shipping confirmation out of them.

You can check the status of your order from the order confirmation email. You need to view the email in html, and the link should be over on the right side in a grey box. I THINK I remember that it will tell you when they estimate shipping...but I'm not exactly sure and all my outstanding orders have shipped.

For example, I ordered something early in the day on 12/4 (around 8 AM) and got the shipping email later in the day on 12/4 (after 5 PM).

Cool - Thanks! I feel better now. I just looked and the 'estimated shipping date' is gone from the wii itself. It now just has an 'estimated arrival date' of 12/20 (which seems a little long, even for free ground shipping - but whatever). I also ordered a second wii-mote and nunchuck. Those still have estimated ship dates of today, so fingers are crossed.

I guess I won't expect a shipping e-mail or tracking numbers until all three have shipped. Has that been anyone else's experience?

Thanks again.

EDIT: The second I hit submit, the confirmation e-mail hit my in-box. The FedEx SmartPost site doesn't seem to have info on the package yet, but it certainly is good news :)

Yeah, their estimates on arrival time seem to be worst case. My package shipped on the 5th and says it will arrive on the 18th. :)

Glad you got the confirmation email! I'll suspect, based on my experience, that you'll actually see the package arrive early next week.

Circuit City, from my experience, is good with their online orders. Last year, I was lucky eough to place an order for a 360 in mid-December. It arrived to my house on Christmas Eve!

I'm posting a follow-up here since I really need to vent about this...

So CC sent my Wii on 12/7. They ship it via FedEx, who apparently processes the packages and then forwards them on to USPS for delivery under something they call "SmartPost" (http://www.fedex.com/us/smartpost/). Well, it's been a week since I've ordered and I can't get any information from CC, FedEx, or the USPS about where the package is. The tracking info on FedEx has only one entry:
"12/8 - Carrier Notification Made - Ardmore, OK"

Last night I tried calling CC who says "That item has shipped. You need to call FedEx". So I call FedEx who says "We can't track it because it's a USPS package, even though it originated from us". So I call USPS who, in addition to being the most rude of the people I've dealt with, says "We can't track FedEx packages
but you can call your local branch to see if they have it for you."

My main beef is that none of the companied involved have any idea about anything. Not just where's my fucking package, but no one at any of these places has a clue that this process of FedEx->USPS even exists let alone the logistics of how to find my fucking Wii.

Very frustrating. At this point I'm not expecting to see this package any time soon, but at 12:01 AM on 12/21* if I have no Wii I will get a refund.

Any suggestions on what I could do in the mean time?

(alright, maybe I'm making a big deal out of this since CC told me that the expected delivery would be before 12/20, but come on - it shouldn't take 2 weeks to deliver... besides, another package that was part of the same order (but not through FedEx SmartPost) made it here in < 3 business days)).

The problem with this method (which is what UPS does with their "Mail Innovations" shit) is that the USPS is generally in no hurry to send these packages along or there's a lot of red tape nonsense that they need to go through on the hand-off. So usually what should be a 3-5 day delivery turns into a 10-14 day delivery.

Thanks for the reply.

So this is to be expected from this crap? Well, I suppose that's good news. It seems pretty stupid, though. Now three individual companies have pissed me off instead of just one. I guess I just need to be a little more patient and wait it out another week. I was really hoping to have it by this weekend, though, as I'll be having a party on Saturday and the Wii would've been the star of the show.

Ya I had something shipped USPS Priority Mail (should take 2-3 days, but went thru UPS) on Dec 4th, didnt get it until Dec 11.
