OXM Demo Disk Problems

Is anyone else having problems with the demo discs from OXM? The last two I have received are giving me a number of different issues. For example, sometimes the disc spins up and you can hear it abruptly stop, the system hesitates for a sec and then it tries to spin the disc up again. It keeps doing this 4 or 5 times until a "Disc is not recognized" error shows. Another error is that the disc just shows up as a Mixed Media Disc on the dash and clicking on it does nothing. When I finally get the disc to load up it seems like half the time it does not recognize that I'm signed in and it makes running through the demos/videos/etc in order to get the gamerpics, etc very cumbersome. I used to be able to get through everything in 10 minutes or so, now it takes much longer.

Is anyone else having these troubles? Is this a problem with the discs or is my 360 causing this?

Did you try boiling the disc (put the disc in boiling water for a few seconds then taking it out and wiping it off)? Whenever I had an OXM disc that didnt work that seemed to fix it.

You are absolutely correct. The reasoning behind this is that the discs are slightly bent, thus making them harder to spin in the 360. Boiling the disc for a couple of seconds flattens it.

Go to their website, click on the link, request a replacement disc. You'll have another in a week or so.

I got bum discs twice recently, the first time I returned it to Target (Really!) I just wanted a new disc, but the girl refunded me the price of the mag, and I bought another.

The second time I didn't want to go back to Target, so I got a replacement through OXM.

Yea I've done the online replacement form but I didn't know about boiling the disc! That's so cool. Anyway my last disc works except one of the demos just stalled my system. Oh well.

Uh oh. Glass cleaners usually have certain chemicals that can actually destroy the data. You could try boiling the disc, and if it still doesn't work get a refund.
