CAGiversary!
my little brother has a dell computer only a year or two old (P4 3.2gz 1gb) with only pci slots, and wants to play Battlefield 2 on it.. Ive done some research and found that some people were able to pull it off with a BFG Geforce nvidia 6200 oc..

Just wanted to know what you guys think about it.. Would this pci 6200 have the same performance as an AGP 6200?? The minimum requirements to play battlefield to are

Geforce fx 5700 or greater
ATI Radeon 8500 or greater

A 6200 is not going to run Battlefield very well. My friend used one and he said it played fine, but the res was real low as were the graphics and this was the AGP version.

I don't think it would be worth dropping that much on that card IMO.

i know that it wont play it good and that it is not the best solution.. but its the only option that he has other than upgrading his motherboard which we are not goin to do.. I guess my question was it this the best available standard PCI interface card available on the market.. Im sick of him coming in my room to play battlefield 2, so im hoping this is a solution to my problem..

if your friend plays bf2 on his 6200 would my brother be able to then too?? Or is a 6200 better on APG than a 6200 on a PCI..
Geez... that's murder. Yes, that's the best option but you'll be paying $150 for a graphics card which probably performs like a $10 PCIe graphics card.

This graphics card seems to be able to run Battlefield 2 and CSS according to one user review who also has a year old Dell with only a PCI slot.
No he's not even finished off paying this computer.. he actually got it less than a year ago.. It amazes me the Dell would even make a computer in 2006 with only PCI slots.. but anyways he is only a light gamer, in fact he sucks a gaming..

I just need to kno if the graphic card will play bf2 decently on a standard PCI slot..

Weird the minimum requirements says fx 5700, and everyone is saying this fx 5200 on pci seems to play battlefield.. what is this??

Well it might, but it is going to play really sluggish or the res is going to be quite low. You could try it, but I would not spend 100+ on a PCI card just because it might not work out well and would end in disappointment.

The reason that a 5700 is the minimum requirement is because prior cards in the nvidia line do not have pixel shader 1.4. A good older card you could probably find for cheap would be the 9250 since it does have the shader and was the most power PCI card for a long time.
