Perfect Dark 0-LE for 49 at Target

Greetings all-
I just purchased a Limited Edition copy of Perfect Dark Zero from Target for 49. I was listed on the shelf at 49 rang-up at 59. I asked for a price check and they immediately changed it. Seems like a good deal since it's the same price as the regular edition.

I guess this is a huge YMMV thing

yea we carry both versions but only have one spot for it. Our ad does show the limited version for 59.99 for next week. It was a big YMMV, depends on the electronics person.

You can buy PDZ: LE for $52.90 shipped from Familyvideo.com, probably slightly cheaper than the YMMV deal at Target plus tax.

The regular edition would be $44.75 shipped.

Wow, this stores on shelves already? There've been no advance reviews as of yet. It's been kind of frustrating because I'm actually quite interested in just how badly this game sucks.
This belongs in the Deal Discussion, not here as this is not YMMV, but a simple mistake.
Yeah, finding one store that made a mistake and put the LE behind the shelf tag for the regular edition doesn't qualify as a "deal" esp. since every Target I've been to lately has their 360 stuff put properly on the shelves.

Actually, though, I'm most likely in a different city as the OP, and I noticed the same thing at Target today as well. PDZ LE behind a PDZ $49.99 price tag. I plan to use the Best Buy's upcoming $10-off coupon and I'm still on the fence as to which version I'm going to get, otherwise I would have grabbed it today.

Thanks for your insight

You're welcome. Guess you don't find it interesting that the game is on shelves, yet we have no advanced reviews. You know, like a movie studio knowing a game is a dud so they don't pre-screen it for critics.

Guess that went over your head. Idiot.

The extra content (gamer pictures, dashboard theme, etc.) certainly doesn't seem worth $10, but for free, hells yeah.

Yeah, whatever.

Folks, if you buy this game, just keep it sealed and don't lose the receipt until you see what IGN, Gamspot, et al have to say. The tea leaves have not looked good for this game, and it appears that MS and Rare have been keeping it under wraps. Meanwhile, practically every other 360 game has been zinged out to reviewers like frisbees. Sorry, but that just doesn't look good.

NOt sure why that's so controversial, except to fanboys. Guess a couple just revealed themselves in this thread.

All that said, the LE version for $50 is a good score (assume you wait for the reviews before cracking it open). Might check out the 360 section of Target tomorrow, just to see what else might be mismarked (as I look for a clearanced Jungle Beat *crosses fingers*).

Actually, 1up had a review up...I believe yesterday, and it "went gold" on their site. I didn't really read up on it, so go forth and find it.

I hate to burst your bubble but multiplayer is good times and has several fun modes. It's even got a "Counterstrike" mode. All the people who wanted it to fail will be mad when they see that it turned out good. Now please go fuck yourself.

I haven't made it to far into the single player game, but MP is where the drawing power is for this type of game anyway.

Yeah, you're right, I'm pretty sure every game made by a movie studio has been pretty shitty.

Thanks Rig for the productive post among the fanboy firestorm.

The 1up piece is a hands-on impressions (i.e., not a full review...yet). Here's the link:

It comes across as "mixed" to me, but I encourage anyone interested in this game to give it a read and formulate your own opinion of the article. Unlike the fanboy brigade, I'm not going to tell anyone to go fuck themselves simply because their opinion happens to differ than mine.

Yeah, you mayhave an opinion, but a thread discusssing someone who found it for $10 cheaper is not the plaxe for it. Go to the 360 forum and post it, sit back, and get flamed. I love how you have already 'formulated' you're own opinion without ever playing it.

I didn't tell you that because your opinion was different than mine, I told you that because you are being a jackass in this thread. Please take my advice and then quit trolling.

Maybe its because some reviewers dont have their hardware yet ...

Well, we've seen lots of early reviews for other 360 games, like PGR3, Kameo, Condemned, CoD2, etc. So apparently, reviewers do have the systems and most of the games. The question is, why don't they have PDZ yet?

Off to Target. If I see the deal, I'll report back with the store location for others who are interested.

Because those other games went gold long before PDZ did, which only recently had the review copies sent out (1up just got theirs yesterday, Gamespot got theirs the night before). 1 day is hardly enough time to review a game with a full 10+ hour campaign mode and unlockables, multiplayer modes, coop play, etc. But I'm sure you won't let a silly thing like logic screw up your arguement, anyway.
