Perfect/Gem Mint Valkyrie Profile Complete...For Trade!

CAGiversary!

A copy of this game was traded into me at work tonight and on the next transaction, I immediately purchased it (quite expensive, actually). The game is perfect: the jewel case shows almost no scratches or wear, the manual hasn''t even been creased and I would rate the discs at a combined 96/100. The only better condition PSone game I've seen is my own copy of Valkyrie Profile.

I want another CAG to experience the wonders of my favorite game of all time, so instead of selling this for a quick $150 on the 'Bay, I'm going to offer it up for trade here. If you have an IGN username, my profile is located under KiruzA (all of my games are there). Looking for ATLUS and Working Designs games mostly. Like shooters, RPGs, SRPGs, and Action/Platformers. I'm really interested in a straight trade for Suikoden II, but we'll see.

Offer up trades!

I'm not trying to pimp anyone, and I know I've only been on here since the Rhapsody/Persona 2 commotion started (I was interested, since I ordered both), but if you check my IGN username I have 7200+ posts and more positive feedback than you can shake a stick at.

Unfortunately, besides my games, I'm poor. I can take a picture with my T630 camera phone, but it wont exhibit the brilliant quality of the game. If you don't believe me that I have it, I'll take the pictures though. Give me a moment.

They will if he ships first. But I doubt he will ship first, as I'm sure a lot of people here would give up their membership to this board for a 150$ game.

And just for good measure...a few I have lying around...

I live right in Boston. I go to BU. (Edit.)

And I would obviously ship first. I know internet etiquette. I'm new, therefore I need to build up my reputation. I'm not a moron.

Any other picture you need while I have my PowerBook handy? I'm sorry the quality isn't better, but I hope that my girlfriend is getting me a digital Nikon for my birthday. (Edit 2)
who you trying to pimp hustla...show me a pic, 2 days on the boards gets you no love
Hey, I didn't accuse you of being one, so don't try to get all defensive. I'm just telling you, watch out.

I trust this guy, too bad I have no intention of paying anything close to what this game is worth. I know a lot of people here would kill for that, though.

I paid $49.99 minus employee discount and EDGE card dicount. I work at EBgames, Store #EDIT in Boston and the guy who traded it in got $15.

My social security number is....

All joking aside, I realize I only paid $50 and that is why I'm not trying to sell it for more on eBay. I'd rather trade it to someone who is done with their game and wants to play this.

You might not want to post the store number, some guy really screwed himself by posting a deal and where he worked.

Nice items by the way, you wouldn't happen to have an extra Lunar laying around would you?;)

Yeah, I was thinking about three different things and it's easier than editing, especially when I was quoting him.

ž_ž

Anyway, I should edit them and change them to something completely unrelated, and have them deleted for being offtopic.

EDIT: Ahem... What triple post?

Why is this game so valueable?

Why does everyone want it?

Would you sell it for $75?

So, let me get this straight, someone could sell this open and used for $150 on the bay? WTF?!?! Why?! Rediculous!

Who is the dumbass who traded this in for $15? I would have drop kicked him on the spot.

It's rare.

People like to have things that are rare/people like to play it and want to get it fast so they will pay ridiculous prices

I'll leave that for the OP

See above answers.

Enix game.

For some reason I kept thinking Square game.

Not that it matters who made it.

Measly $25 profit if I bought it for $75. Pffft! I'll pass.

I really have no interest in this game other then to rape some poor bum of his wasted money on ebay.

If Enix/Square are smart they will pull an atlus and do some reprints. These used game prices on ebay are insane.

Stop posting in here then.

All OMGZERGRUSH MUST HAVE GAME! posts aside, Valkyrie Profile is in high demand because it's really good.

Not only did it come out near the end of the PSone's lifespan (2000), but it was published by Enix and they weren't well known in the States (only Dragon Warrior/Monsters and SO:TSS). So, like so many games from that era, it got passed over, and now many people want it.

It's probably the best RPG I've played since Chrono Trigger (my favorite game of all time) and it isn't easy either. Some of the dungeons will have you kicking yourself for not paying attention, but it's so worth it in the end. the mythology, story line, and character development are top notch.

I'd say that this game is closer to new than used. It's quite ridiculous actually. I also snagged this same traders (at my work) non-Greatest Hits Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy Chronicles (which was sealed).

Crap, I need FF: Chronicles, also

Reply to a brother's PMs :D

It is actually a pretty fun game. It's got a fairly unique battle system, and the premise for the game is pretty neat. It combines RPG with some platforming and puzzles, and I thought it was a pretty good mix.

It does suffer from some poor story development (all the characters seem to have a great background at first, but none of them goes into much depth.)

I'd definitely pay 50 bucks for a new copy/35 for a used, but probably not much mroe than that.

Thank you! That what was what I was interested in knowing

Now I'm interested to perhaps try this game someday. However, I don't have any of the games you mentioned to trade. I just spent a load on the Atlus games, so I think I'll have to pass no matter how good a deal you give someone.

If you really wanted to be nice, you could've told the guy about the gem he possessed and was letting go for 20% it's value.

But, yeah, I don't really think the majority of it's demand is in it's goodness; (Even though a piece of crap won't sell for $200 new) the game may be great, but it's scarceness and the fact that it's an RPG (must play every Square/Enix/Square Enix/Atlus/NIS game ever made) would also contribute to it.

But damn, if this game had a GH version and I had money, I would buy it and Vagrant Story in a second.

If you're looking to accumulate more money, I'll buy your Sword of Mana for $12 shipped.

I have a sealed, non-GH Vagrant Story...how bad do you want to play it?

But yeah, if I didn't answer a PM it's because you didn't have any games that I liked and didn't already own. I wish I could respond to you all, but I'm doing a million other things.

I'd trade for a Gitaroo Man? or a Rez?

Oh, and Farny, SoM isn't worth $12. I'd buy a GH Vagrant Story from GameExpress before I bought SoM.
I have a sealed, non-GH Vagrant Story...how bad do you want to play it?
Not enough to pay for what an original, sealed copy is worth.

Actually, what is it worth sealed? I can't find any on eBay.

Probably a little less than what a sealed Xenogears non-GH will fetch. I saw a few go for $100, but this is another game that I love so much I'd sell if for $50 (hell, I got it for free), but if you don't care, just buy a GH copy and save yourself some money. Play an AMAZING game.

My wants are anything ATLUS, Working Designs, (have all the NIS and Enix, sans DWVII) for the PS2 or PSX. Subtract the ones I already have in my collection and I'm left with some decently hand to fidn games. Really looking for Orge Battle and Tactics Ogre, as well as Elemental Gearbolt and some WD games.

AND SUIKODEN!
