Also, ToysRUs has had this on clearance for 9.98 for a while. I bought a copy before Christmas. I checked a few weeks ago, and they still had several copies left.
 
Was fortunate enough to find a complete copy during a BBV B1G1 (so $5 net), but haven't played it yet. At least I have a friend who loved old Pikmin.
 
Nintendo was planning on a Wii-release of Pikmin 2. Has anyone
heard anything about it, in the last long while?

I'm still waiting for them to do a release of Luigi's Mansion!

in 2009 they released Pikmin 2 for the wii everywhere but the US! =[
i'm doubtful that they will release it two years later here, but i'm still hoping....

i've seen pikman 2 on ebay, but it was only for international release. i forgot either europe and japanese market or both. i haven't heard of it coming to the US.

Keep holding your breath on that one. LM was more tech demo than game, and a re-release would not neccessarily help to extend the brand as Luigi is already in a million other games.

Nintendo needed to re-release Pikmin as a way to keep fan interest until they spring the next one. Its all about marketing and potential revenue. LM was no cash cow, but there has been a lot of demand for Pikmin.
