has any one played it? it looks interesting but i dont wanna waste $30 on a waste of time if anyone owns it or has played it can you tell me what its about at all?

EGM gave it a 0.0.. I think it averaged out at a 0.5 out of 10. Got a 1 out of 5 from 1up, 1 out of 5 from Gamespy, 3.3 out of Gamespot and 3.5 out of IGN
 
ya its not all that great right now, but I think once DemaSked comes out then it will be alot more fun. It has a great idea behind it but you need to have a large scale group (internet) to use it with. just chating beack and forth with your friends in the same room makes the game rather dumb.

It's hard to be pessimistic when Shiggy has explicitly stated the DS WILL go online, and they are working with Square-Enix to do it, and do it right. Now, if only they get it up and running for Animal Crossing, all will be right with the world.

Yeah, well Nintendo also said the Gamecube would be online and looked what happened there. It's fully capable of going online, but with three or four games, none being first party, that support it.


Also, I'd rather keep my hopes, and expectations low then I'll never be dissapointed. I don't want to be sitting there so sure that DeMasked is going to be this magical service that will bring the DS and all it's wonderful games online. Come three years later when the console's dead you'll be on this message board seeing topics like "The DS would have been so much better if it had some online games," wondering what went wrong. Just getting ready to drop another $200 on the next console that has all the features the one before it should have had.

I'm not putting down the DS, I love it, I'm just really skeptical about DeMasked. I want it to be work out, and i hope it does, but like I said... expectations low = no dissapointment.
 
As far as Ping Pals goes, I'll have to agree with CapAmerica. It looks like it could be fun, just not with your buddies in the same room. If they do get an online service up soon, we all need to have CAG DS chatting sessions! :)

I can't say I remember them saying the Gamecube would be online. What I remember is Nintendo not wanting to go online until they could make it free. Very noble, if you ask me.

Didn't you sell your DS to a friend already? I think I remember some thread where you were asking if you should sell it or not and multiple threads with you bashing it. Maybe I'm just imagining things...

If it does go online Pictochat could do the same thing as Ping Pals that is why it is pointless. Anyway...about the DS and online. IF IF IF Nintendo is smart they will release a statement about there online plans right near the Playstation Portable launch in March...which there is a rumor that something big is coming. If they do it right Nintendo could FINALLY GET BACK INTO THE GAME!

I guess I just wondered how someone who agreed that the DS is lame, bashed it on multiple occasions, sold it, can then turn around and say that they love the DS and that they aren't bashing it and expect someone to take their opinion seriously.

Do you take that approach with women, too?
 
I have played ping pals. the family feud type of mini game is kinda interesting. I didn't really try to chat with the programmed pals much. I think I cursed them out or made fun of them, but they didn't have good come backs, so I stopped.

amazingly a coworker's girlfriend wanted it, so I sold it off. can't say I missed it.

Sprung is nore entertaining.
 
Nintendo has dissapointed us before with the GCN.
It could have been online, but wasn't.

DS, a repeat?
Ping Pals seems kinda useless without the internet community.

I have this game and plan on trading it in for rr:racer or mr.driller. If the ds does go online this could have potential as you can customize a character ( boy or girl ) and some decent mini games.
