Anyone else going? or been to one of the other performances? Is it any good?

Also I'm driving in from NJ to go if anyone wants to carpool.

If you like video game soundtracks for games like Sonic and Final Fantasy then it will be a great experience for you. My girlfriend recently went to it in Detroit a couple of weeks ago and can't stop talking about it.

Tommy Tallarico is with Video Games Live, the other video game symphony.

So how was the show? I was already on the fence for this with the cheapest tix at $50, but the $20 bus fare made me think twice about it.

Doh! There were no videogame music concert tours for the last 30 years, and now theres TWO??? lol

It was good. Not enough game graphics to go with the music (for some reason the Square games had zero game shots). They did the world premiere of the score from Prey which was cool as well as a preview of Blue Dragon. Oh and the Mario medley was really good. I enjoyed it but the cost was too much (85$ 4th row center ticket + 20$ in gas to get there)

I was really disappointed in the lack of merch and demos. A freakin' program was 20$. I did get about a dozen codes to download the whole Oblivion soundtrack which I will prob put up for trade.

Play is coming to wolftrap next friday...im still on the fence into going.... I did see "to bodly go.." in early July feature Spock himself.... the first half was awesome as it featured some great music from superman, star trek, star wars played by the NSO, which was awesome. The second half played some other music while Nemoy narrated some scenes from the planets. Wow I couldn't believe I was sitting about 50 feet from Spock himself ;-P

I went to the concert premiere in Chicago in May, and I'd say it was entirely worth it.
Nobuo Uematsu, Koji Kondo, Yuzo Koshiro, Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Shenmue, many other Sega games.. including Daytona USA. Yes, he did the singing.), Akira Yamaoka, Jason Hayes, and Joel Eriksson attended the one I went to, were there any special guests/ performances at the other concerts?

Koji Kondo got on stage and played a piano solo version of the main tune from New Super Mario Bros, and Akira Yamaoka went up to play the lead guitar and just rocked out on Laura's Theme from Silent Hill 2.

Angela Aki came up to sing Eyes on Me and Kiss Me Goodbye, also.

What special things happened at the other concerts? I know certain stops had different things, I'd love to find out what happened!

ok you guys convince me to go..so I bough the tickets...yay.

I want to hear a really good Simon's theme from castlevania or something from Resident Evil or Silent Hill.
At the one in PA they didnt have jack. No special appearances at all. Grrrrr.... The theatre was really empty too
uh??? WHAT??? oh no..................

so what did they play? and what was shown on the video screen? I already ordered my tickets :whistle2:O

I was on the fence when I saw the promo on the center's web site a while back, but the ticket price made me think twice. It's within 20 miles driving distance for me, so it isn't that far...if only the tickets were under $30.

in my location, Wolf Trap (VA) you can get lawn seats for 15 bucks! but then you have to do it picnic style and with other people right next to you who might not shut up.

I wanted to go to this, but it was on a Thursday and the ticket prices were hella expensive. Plus it kinda sucks to go anywhere in the Philadelphia area that requires you to drive the Schuykill.

I didn't expect they would do anything special for the Philly crowd. It's lucky they even came here at all.

hmmm..............
Silent Hill 2, Sonic, and KH seems to be the only ones I want to hear..awww too bad no Resident Evil or Castlevania music..but oh well hopefully it will be good.

OK i went to the August 4th on here at Wolf Trap, VA

Compared to the concert featuring Lenard Nemoy (AKA SPOCK), this one was EXTREMLY PACKED... EVERY SEAT IN THE HOUSE WAS FILLED, compared to the other one which still had plenty of seats :whistle2:O

as the other poster listed they played just that... now there where I think two or three special messages from Nintendo's president and some other Jap conductors.. Fans went NUTS over Final Fantasy Music, extremly NUTS with Mario Music, and Zelda Music...and of course all those hard core HALO fans went nuts over the halo music. I was expecting a lot of video but it was more the orchestra then the video of the games. :| I bought a tshirt for my 4 year old nephew and a PLAY! book that was very well illustrated, both costing me a total of 40 bucks..eek.. Yea this one dude (looks like a late teen, college freshmen) and his mom who was infront of me in the line bought like 200 dollars worth of FF stuff..pffffff

The concert was ok.......... I wished they had Castlevania music (I just learned that they WILL play castlevania music, but at the CANADA Concert :( ) , some Resident Evil music, Silent hill music and a few others. There were a group of die hard fans who dressed in apparently there own FF outfits :|

Between this concert and the last one with Spock...I think the first one was better :)
