Does anyone else hate those people that give up on a game because they suck and then go and call the game horrible? I hate those people...Theyre too lazy to try and so they blame the game...I also hate the people who quit out of a ranked game in SCPT just cuz theyre losing...I have been pissed off and hated parts of games because they were hard, say Ninja Gaiden...But I kept on truckin cuz I knew it was great...Anyways...What Im asking in this poll is whether you give up or not...Plain and Simple

Well not really...

I ususally suck at most vs games. I try and I try. I hate rpg games, but am kinda good at those. I have found that my skills have weakened since i was younger.

i just posted something about giving up on silent hill 3 because i wasnt feeling it....though this thread is also about online gaming and giving up because a game is too hard....im just curious if this is about my silent hill post

btw, i thought ninja gaiden was pretty easy....i only had trouble on a boss or two...but after i figured out how to beat em and played the game all over for a second time....i flew through the game

Usually when I'm gaming I'll hit a wall where I'm just too pissed to continue (Ninja Gaiden comes to mind). I'll take a break and when I come back I can get past that part easily.

I never quit out of PT or any other online game if I'm losing. I try to lose with honor if there is such a thing. My connection does drop at times when I'm winning unfortunately.

well, i think there shouldve been a middle option...'

c1/2 :I try till i risk damaging myself/objects around me
c3/4: I try till i " " " " " then go rant about how the game blows

Reason i put this is because of situations like in FFx from what i recall, where you needed to get a time of zero seconds in a race ini order to get a part required for Tiduses final weapon. 6 hours of trying afterwards, I tore a chunk out of my armchair, broke the controller, but didnt think the game was bad.

I don't quit just because it eats me up to quit. But there is a point in every game where I strongly want to. It is the point in the middle of the RPG/Sports game that you can not see the end, and the novelty of the game has worn off.

Right now - KOTOR is in that spot. In my 2nd planet for the hunt for the map - and I am thinking, oh... so much longer.

But I also have a really hard time playing another game when I am working on one. I prefer to do one at a time...

Just my 2 cents.

I only quit out of games when people are cheating or being REALLY cheap...Like say in SCPT they knock you out then they wait and when you wake up they jump ontop of you...or in RS3 when people lean glitch...I just cant stand people who cheat so they win

im a quitter by nature but would never do so in an online game. for instance i gave up on vj because the frustration level outweighed its fun level for me. the one online game i play is FFXI and i despise when a party member disbands when a battle is looking unfavorable. not cool.

i find quitting at times can be very satisfying... like say i'm playing a game and the games not even that fun... but i'm at a point that i cant beat.. and i dont want to let the POS game get the best of me so i'm like.. I"M GONNA fuckIN BEAT THIS PART! and then a couple of hours later i'm still on that part, and i realize that i havent enjoyed playing any of the game at all.. thats when quitting is fun.. it usually saves me from having to buy a new controller.

i dont quit when i'm playing a game with other people and i'm doin bad. thats less frustrating than not being able to get passed a certain part of a game to me..

Well I play games to have fun. If I get to a point where I'm stuck and dying maybe 10+ times in a row, I'll consult a guide to hopefully get me past. If I still am too retarded to swing it, I'll look up a cheat code to hopefully get me by. If there are no cheat codes to work then I will generally move on to the next game. (After maybe giving it another bunch of tries.) Oh, let me just say that IMO developers should always include a god mode cheat so an end user can plug it in to get past any niggling part they can't handle. Just MHO. I almost never need to resort to cheat codes though 8)

But that honestly doesn't happen all that much. The last game I can think of being too hard for me to finish is Vexx. I made it to the final boss but just could not beat him. I think he has three stages and I wasn't even getting past the 2nd, so I wasn't even very close really.

There have also been a handful of games that just didn't hold my interest enough to finish. Last one in that category is Dr. Muto. I got probably 2/3rds of the way through and then just decided to put it up on the shelf in favor of the next (hopefully more fun) game. I generally try to finish any game I start, but if it becomes just too much of a chore I will pull the plug.

You have to differentiate between online games against other people and single player games. It's chickenshit to quit on a multiplayer game because you are losing but when I had that game pass thing at Blockbuster I took a couple games back after a day or two because I realized pretty fast that I just didn't like them.
