I'm gonna call again tomorrow to see what's up with this. I'm gonna ask why some people who ordered later than us still got their copies...
I just sent Konami the following letter. I'll post up the response when I get it. For those who did not reserve a copy, but still want to get a limited edition, I suggest that you email them with a complaint as well. This just shows how much people are demanding for more copies (I know I keep saying that). But if people can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.
"I am one of many customers who pre-ordered "Metal Gear 3: Subsistence Limited Edition" and did not receive a copy. This poses as a problem. Not only does this shake my trust in the game distributors, but Konami as well. I found that most of the stores whom experienced this problem was GameStop and EB Games.
Apparently, Konami only made a certain amount of the limited edition (hence the title "limited edition"). I find it very disturbing, however, that those who pre-ordered their copies of the limited edition (the same copies that customers were guaranteed to receive), did not get their copy.
This raises the question: is Konami going to make more limited edition copies to at least fill the reservations? There are many angry customers that did not receive their copy, so it makes me wonder if we are still guaranteed to receive one.
Now I understand that Konami made a certain amount of copies and shipped them to the distributors, and that it is the distributor's responsibility to determine how many each store gets. I do, however, find it very strange that the distributors claim they did not get enough copies. So who is to blame for this unfortunate turn of events? Was it because Konami's failure to make enough, or was it the distribution center's error in shipping the right amount of quantities? This is still yet to be determined
Similarly, I understand that Konami also made a cut-off date for reserving the Limited-edition; stating that only those who pre-ordered their copy at that point, are going to receive their copy of the limited-edition. However, I'm still irritated that although I reserved my copy well before the cut-off date, I was still denied a copy, due to insufficient quantities.
At any rate, there is no excuse for the pre-orders not to be filled. There are still many, like me, who are keeping their money towards their reservation of the limited edition, in hopes that they may receive their copy, even at the cost of arriving at a later date.
Please, email me with what can be done. I believe many customers were wronged and let down by all of this. I am quite certain that reprinting the limited editions will not only get more customers to buy it, but will satisfy those who were denied a copy, and are still eagerly waiting for their copy to arrive."
