Problem with Computer

I have a problem with my computer and I believe it relates to gaming. Whenever I turn it on there is a blurry screen that is also washed out and weirdly colored. It started a while ago when my screen started collapsing on the sides. Then, there were frequent black outs and color disparations. Now, whenever I start my computer it simply goes black with weird color lines across the screen. I heard this is either a monitor or graphics card problem, but I'm not quite sure on how to handle it.

If it is a graphics card problem then I would probably have to get a new one. Problem is that I would need a dated card due to my dated motherboard. What are some good Geforce 3 cards out there?

No other monitors to borrow, unfortunately.
 
It sounds like a monitor problem. I'd suggest trying to find someone with a PC...should not be too hard to do.

Or go on craigslist, people on there are pratically giving away their CRT monitors...I have seen some as low as $10 in my area lol.
