Hi. Had a ps1 then jump to xbox and xbox 360. I skip ps2 and for some reason I miss some of those rpg gems on sony ps. I don't know much about the ps3. I seen the fat one, slim, and super slim. Which is better made and last longer avoid yrod? Is it easy to upgrade the hard drive? Compare to xbox 360, why is the ps3 games require to be installed? Xbox doesn't require it. Does all ps3 games need installing? Besides the ps3 exclusive games, how does the games on both consoles compare? Was thinking dead space series , zone of Enders, etc. I know when ps3 first came out heard it was too advance and had difficultly making games. I was thinking fallout 3 when I get a ps3. Any highly recommended games? I was also thinking of house of the dead overkill. I apologize for all the newb questions and hope anyone could answer these questions before I go buy a ps3. Oh, heard e3 price drop is that true? Thanks

I'm having a hard time understanding what you wrote, but I'm going to take a guess, so if I'm wrong about what you were asking I apologize. PS3 games don't need to be installed, not sure who told you that. Ps4 does I think, just like the Xbone. Xbone just dropped in price as they will now be selling it without the kinect.
The slim and super slim are not backwards compatible, the fat is, however I've heard of the fat having problems down the line so personally I wouldn't get it. You can always buy a ps2 cheap to play those games (the slims will still play ps games)

Hope. This helps

As far as games, the unchartered series is good, the last of us, ni no kuni, jak and daxter series, ico, etc.

There are plenty of PS3 games that have mandatory installs, including some of the ones you've listed (The Last of Us, Ni No Kuni). It's not funny to spread false information.

1. super slim - fewer moving parts = lasting longer.  Fat PS3 can play most PS2 games but has the highest failure rt.

2. Very easy to update HDD.

3. Zone of Ender is better on PS3, however Bethesda games like Fallout 3 is better on 360.  Some games are better on PS3, some are better on X360

4. some games requres install, some don't

Sorry OP, I didn't know about the install, I wasn't trying to be a "jokester".

But anyways while I'm here, I also thought of some other gems if you missed out on all the ps games: Dragon Warrior 7 (playstation), final fantasy series, legend of dragoon, legend of mana

They might be older, but they helped build my love for RPGs :)

I heard ps3 games have to be installed because of patches and faster load times. I have a ps2 phat that a friend gave away.

I dont know much about ps3. This is why im asking for feedback that any CAG here that already own ps3 system.

If im understanding correctly, CAG here say the Slim is the best due to built and less YROD?

But do you know the reason why ps3 have mandatory installs? I have a xbox 360 and never have to install games. I just pop disc in and loads fast. I could install games on the xbox 360 if i want to, but its not mandatory at all. I was just wondering why on the ps3 system.

Yes, the slim is the better one. Just keep your PS2 to play that generation of games, and the slim will play PS3 and PS1 games. :)

The blu ray drive's reading speed is slower than DVD. Thats why some games require installation to reduce loading time

I've had a phat since day 45 or so. I did not know the slims still had PS1 BC. Thought all BC was pulled from the slims. My TIL.

Yup :)

I love being able to play the oldies on it, and works out better for me because my memory card for ps1 games was full so I can play and save all I want now on my ps3 :)
