I will be at school during most of the press conferences and I plan to finally put this remote play functionality to good use. Instead of going home at night and downloading all the E3 content from the PS Store, I could, in theory access the PS Store and initiate the download(s) with my PSP while I am away in class, using the school's wifi connection.

I assume if you're going to be away at school/work with access to a wifi connection, this would be a great opportunity to utilize remote play.

Even though most of us already know how to do this, full instructions on how to do this can be found here: http://au.playstation.com/support/ps3/faqs/ps3_remote_play.jhtml

Yes if my job had a Wifi network! Darn it.

Guess I'll have to ogle the news online, then wait to download it when I get home.

Ive never actually tried this...might have to with the free WiFi at work. Does your PSP have the be updated to the latest FW for it to work?

Yes, the FW should be 3.5 for the PSP...

Like many other... the PSP got no WiFi, so can't do remote play :(

Well, work like a charm at home, but then, it's not all that useful since i can just turn on the TV...

I'll have to wait for another custom firmware then to use it.

You'll need to connect to your friend's network (wireless i assume?). It's a bit pain in the ass for encrypted networks...

I'd like to do this, but I usually leave my PS3 folding when I come to work.

I guess I can turn on remote play tomorrow and give it a go though.
