PS3s a bit scarce in the Bay Area

My friend has been looking for a PS3 for the past 2 weeks and it seems that PS3s are not really in stock at most penninsula stores. This is weird because people have been saying for a long time that PS3s are everywhere, no one wants them, etc. Someone even said that New York City was full of PS3s, so that rules out the difference between rural and metropolitan regions.

The only store that had PS3s in San Francisco was the Metreon. We even went to all 3 Best Buys in SF and Colma, none had PS3s. I guess I am just wondering what is so particular with the Bay Area that makes PS3s significantly harder to find. Or is this a nationwide trend that people are snatching up PS3s to an extent due to some external factor...

Wow, drive up to the Portland area - they can't give 'em away up here . Now if you want the 20GB that is a different matter - I've only ever seen one of those. But I've lost track of how many 60GB's I've seen. They are in nearly every store I go to. They do sell eventually as the shelves will be empty for a few days (after having PS3's for a week or two) but then they are usually restocked pretty quickly. Wii's, on the other hand, are nonexistant!

I saw 3 PS3s at the Colma Target yesterday, and they even had some at the Geary BB last night as well.

I see them more often than I don't these days.

Eh.. going to a few Best Buys isn't saying much. Thats like the "first place to look". I haven't been game shopping actively much but Target always seems to have a couple. Just go to Frys, they have stacks. They keep'em right next to the big locked up glass case of porn.

I've been seeing them off and on at Target and Best Buy, the other day at Target about 6 PS3s came off the trailer during overnight, most likely gone by now though.

Can you say E-File .

That's probably why they started to disappear oof the shelves .
My person theory .

I used to wait to get my taxes to big expensive things when I was younger .

Try the East Bay... it is hard to find anything in SF... too many fuckers. I have not NOT seen a ps3 60 GB in the East Bay since the end of December
