PS4 Camera (New) - $39.99 @ GameStop, if anyone cares...

Looks like a good price.. but is there any point to really getting this? I heard no games use it at this point.. has anyone heard of any upcoming uses for it yet?

Been debating about getting one but it would only be like for Twitch though.... I can probably hold out for a bit and see it drop in a price a bit more.

 
There are a few Move games (like Sportsfriends—"Jeremy Peeples of Hardcore Gamer gave the game a 4/5, saying 'It mixes the competitiveness of real sports with video game conventions and is the absolute best reason to own a PS camera on the PS4.'").

Also, it's $40 on Amazon now, but I still suspect we'll see some Black Friday and/or game package deals.

I've been debating getting a PS4 camera since launch and even at $40 it's a difficult purchase to justify.

There's very little content that makes use of it.  If you do a lot of streaming and want to incorporate the camera feed into your streams, then it might be worth it.

And Amazon has had it at around $43 for the better part of the last 2 months (now it's at 39.99).  I don't think there's any reason to rush on this deal.

Few? Isnt it more like one. I believe the recenetly released Sportfriends, which you mentioned is the only game that even uses the peripheral

Well the title included the whole "if anyone cares" line so.. :eek: I felt a need to make that post. If it was just "PS4 Camera $40 at GameStop" I would have ignored the thread entirely.

Yeah, it's a bleak landscape. Just Dance (previously mentioned) and Octodad are the only others I can think of. So... 3?

You can use Move controllers with Sportsfriends (at least for the menus and JS Joust), but it doesn't require/use the camera.

 
The Project Morpheus VR headset is confirmed to use the camera. It requires it to provide accurate head tracking via the light on the controller and on the headset itself. So I guess it's thinking ahead if you want one now.

What do you do with it now?

I have Theif, Destiny, Killzone, Knack, Last of us, and AC BF

Anything the camera can do with these?

Or what games will use it?

I was told its like the Kinect and the wii/move together

Is it worth getting for the future at this price?

 
Is this worth getting to use pretty much as just a mic? After using the kinect its convenient not to wear a headset but not sure of the sound on this.

Good point here, re: Black Friday deals. I considered jumping on this now, but I don't have a need for it. If it is $20ish on BF, then I am in.

 
It'll be used for project morepheus, right?
