The" Thread " is over NO MORE TO BE had. NOT for days. It's about whining and shipping now. Was offering alternative to someone who might want to play ? Not look at his fancy paint job and whine on his phone.

I wasn't aware other people weren't allowed to have their own opinions on a console. Obviously the people in this thread like the controller, or the console, or the game, or all of the above. There's a reason the orange controllers from this pack you were ripping on are going for $130+ on eBay.

you're going to look really stupid when it goes up for 299 on amazon friday

everyone already knows about the MW bundle, it's not as good of a deal considering it just comes with a $40 game instead of a $60 one. and people who got cancellations probably bought it with the 20% coupon if they were interested.
not to mention it's pretty widely available and not hard to find

Your opinion sucks. And everyone knows what the alternative is. A black PS4 is nothing to write home about. I’ll take this one over a boring ass all black console any day of the week.
 
I too ordered the MW edition from target with my red card.  I preferred the simple black look as the DS edition wasn't my cup of tea. Never the less, I appreciate that it is for a lot of the folks in this thread and am happy for them in snagging one.

tbh before this deal was known, I kinda had my eyes set on that one to match my white vita, but then i'd be paying 60 out of pocket to buy DS anyways. in the end it was a nice compromise, unique looking system and controller with free game, i can live with that

it's really too bad that the glacier white pro isn't a gloss finish like the death stranding one, that would make it just stunning compared to matte

I got it for 300 so why I wait for Amazon? He was angry because I said bad words about his console. It's nice, but not that big of a deal, I wanted one really but they were sold out, So not bad to get pro with COD and new controller for 300, target had it all week, I did not want to bother with crowds or lines, or shipping. I tried to Get DS bundle at Gamestop, BB, Ect. Sold out. So I will pick up the game somewhere onsale, I certainly don't feel silly, will be fine without Artwork and silly is that controller, I would have sold that.

I just wanted to say that I was able to get this at Best Buy in-store on Black Friday. They had a place holder in the video games section for the Death Stranding LE with the price tag of $299.99. After asking a very helpful employee if they had it in stock, he ran around for about 10 minutes and found me the last one in the store since it didn't ring up in any of their tracking devices. So happy. Props to the employee.

If anyone still wants this. It’s available at Sony rewards for the same price, and you can use points if you have any. I’ve been personally fighting to not get it. I already have a pro and a gold slim. I don’t need it. But I do so want it.

I thought I'd dodged the bullet of spending $300 on one of these when I missed the deal earlier this week. My heart says "thanks," but my wallet says "fuck you!"
 
Buy now, think later. I just got mine the other day after having gotten rid of my original PS4 years ago. This console looks awesome in person. The controller is so nice that I almost don't want to use it and ruin it lol. I might need to grab a spare so it doesn't get worn out.

You can also sell this down the line if you don't want it and make most of your money back if not more.

I'd recommend grabbing that second controller asap! Prices keep going up. I just did a buy it now for mine like at $110. I had recently sold the Sea of Thieves controller and DLC individually and got like $220. Was even debating picking up a third so I can keep one unopened but that's probably to far lol
 
Yeah, I finally broke. The controller sales for over a hundred and apparently my gold PS4 is still worth about the same I paid so it’s pretty much a free upgrade.

Same here, i went to the rewards site twice. I was lost, unable to order without using points.

To my surprise i cane to this thread, noticed the Holy Hell I Love You post and instantly retried :)

I was able to add to cart and follow through with my order !! Good job guys :)

Holy crap, now my new dilemma is my One for $399 from Amazon just arrived today. Do I order one from Sony and go through the process of returning that one to Amazon (Would they even catch that?)

 
Mine has shipped, here's the crap part.

I've had all week off, but it's going to deliver Monday. When I work from 8am - 11pm.

Can't manage the delivery by shippers request or I have to wait 3 - 5 days to verify my address so I then can manage shipments.

Here's to hoping the FedEx guy reads my official express slip and puts in my shed and locks the door.

Nothings ever easy folks.

I'm trying to understand how there's Sony Rewards and Sony Direct. How are there two different Sony stores selling the same product, yet one is somehow sold out of that product while the other has it in stock?
 
Ordered Sunday afternoon and just got the order shipped message an hour ago. My order was preparing to ship since I placed it. Not complaining, just happy it’s on its way
 
Just received mine today but I'm kinda disappointed that they couldn't even add some proper padding into the packing box so that the PS4 didn't rock around inside. Unfortunately the PS4 box itself has a few dingers, but the console itself is beautiful with that matte/glossy finish so I'm just happy I was able to snag one.

 
Sony rewards technically isn’t a store. It’s the rewards program for the PlayStation credit card, and other Sony things to earn points. I’m assuming they get a certain stock when the item comes out, then sell them for the points you earn. Though apparently you can just buy the points. I didn’t know that until I was 2500 short.

I’d honestly get it only if it was still available at bestbuy so I can finance it. I’ve spent too much already. I was really tempted to get it even though I still have the original ps4 and were 1 year away from ps5. Good luck to all still awaiting shipment. Sam Porter Bridges should arrive soon. I have no points at the Sony Rewards store, so is that essentially what I did? I just bought points, which were then used to purchase the DS PS4 bundle?

Yep correct. It's the same thing I just did yesterday once you or someone else was able to get that to work. So now I'm just waiting on the one from Sony Rewards and then I'll send that one back to Amazon for the $399.99 - and in the longest of absolute longest return chains I've had in my life I'll have succeeded in getting this console for $299.99, with an extra copy of the exclusive controller, and all will be right in the world thanks to my fellow CAG'ers.

It's funny how much better in person this console looks with that glass on top than pictures can do it justice. Even the controller looks pretty damn sweet IMO.

I bought the second controller on E-Bay, so hell no. And yes, they are literally identical products, and Amazon won't price match despite me showing them on Sony Rewards where it's $299.99. I don't see any harm in taking an identical product from Sony and sending it back to Amazon? That'd be an awfully weird thing to get caught up about.

Won't Amazon check the serial number? Every console has a different serial number on the bottom of the box.

 
So I was reading up on the Sony Rewards site because I was thinking of grabbing a second one at 299 for the extra controller...

Sony Rewards doesn't offer any kind of return service, but what's worse is apparently there could be issues of overselling there, too.

A few people were commenting that they spoke to customer service at Sony Rewards and were told that if the item was oversold and the order was canceled, the refund would be in the form of Sony reward points, NOT your original payment method. That is honestly an absurd policy if true, and it scared me off from placing my order.

Yeah I’m imagining that the rewards stock is a bait and switch. I believe that they would have pulled from the reward stock site to fulfill the Black Friday orders if they actually had more.
I definitely wouldn’t buy points unless you’re willing to lose $300 and spend it on random junk

Maybe? I don't know, from what I was reading when you buy online they typically just key in the product. I didn't see anything on my Amazon order that at all indicates any type of scanned serial number. Nor did I on two base PS4s i bought this week from Walmart and Best Buy and I had no issue returning those.

I'd just tell Amazon I already called their CS and did chat (true) and that I opened that one since I knew I'd be returning an identical item. I don't think this will be any type of big deal but we will see.

Pretty sure a supervisor or manager would absolutely refund your account. It'd be as simple as saying they falsely advertised saying the item was in stock, and their points do me no good because that's the item I literally bought and the only one I want. We will see, hoping Sony Rewards fills theirs.

Does it still allow you to actually place the order? I thought from what they said somewhere after 120 or so people had redeemed it that's when it got cut off and people weren't actually able to complete the purchase?

If they cancel my order and refund me $319 in Sony points, I'll go ballistic on them. I'm hopeful that my order won't get canceled though, as less than 10 people purchased the bundle by the time I placed my order on the 30th.
