PSP Screen Problem

Swanton

CAGiversary!
After I dropped my PSP, dust was under the screen somehow... Can I fix it without breaking it or the PSP or can it be professionally done?

I bought the PSP value pack and the THUG2R game and the 1 GB memory stick. I spent $400-$450. Then I had no money!

Hmm, yup. Should have gone with the Logitech case. Best $20 I've ever spent.

On topic...I don't know of a safe way to clean the inside glass. Did you happen to get a warranty for it?

They offered a warranty that would get me a new PSP if mine had any scratches, dead pixels, if it was broken, or got stolen, etc. But I had no money. I am guessing that either this is not protected under the warranty that Sony has on all their PSPs, or my warranty time is up.

How long is the warranty that Sony gave the PSP anyway?

Just wondering becasue if it's still under warranty, it might, by a small possibility, be covered by that, maybe... Right?

Sony offered to let me send in my PSP which also somehow got dust under the screen after two months of owning it. But since the dust was small (only one noticable piece I'm hoping eventually falls loose) and since Sony upgrades your firmware if you send your PSP in (goodbye emulators) I decided against it. Plus there was no guarentee the replacement PSP wouldnt have dead pixels or something.

i couldnt tell if that was sarcasm or not, but its firmware (like software, but harder). emulators, homebrew apps and other exploits are wht you loose when you update. if none of that matters to you, than the update is a good thing.

and an emulator refers to a program that emulates a classic game machine (nes, genesis, arcade)

there are many for the psp and even more for the pc.

I think they'll fix it as long as you don't tell them you dropped it. Just say that you left the PSP is the included pouch (or case or whatever) and had it in your pocket and later that day, you noticed dust in there. They might fix it...

And yes, they'll upgrade your firmware but from the sounds of it, that won't bother you.

i am a very stupid computer person, so i dont know how to get emulators on my psp, i have tries, but it has failed

What is with the topic title... lol. Anyways that seems to be the prob. with PSPs. They are prone to injuries quite easily.

just cause a thread has finished/died, you dont need a mod to close it, and I highly doubt one will close it

ok, and i just wanted the thread closed because most of the people on CAG just want to insult people. and idc if it gets closed or not, people can keep writing here, or watever.
