Title says it all.

These Doom 3 engine games drop price quickly... I'll give Prey a few months before it's also $19.99 on PC.[/quote]

Its free on bittorrent ;) , lol im jk. But yea, its a pretty decent game, although I find games like these, ie Quake 4, Unreal Tournament, Prey, all too similar, but at 20 dollars its worth a buy if you like these kind of fast pace FPS.

I wish to God that someone would show me how to use bittorrent. For the life of me, I can't figure it out.

Anyway, I might snag it for $20.....

It's not that hard...really. Just google it, even I

Seriously, Bit Torrent is not worth it.

Support your independent game stores and game developers like id. id deserves your money. There are tons of programmers and designers who spend thousands of hours creating some amazing games. The best thing about id is that they release the source codes to their games in 5 years which is amazing knowledge if you ever want to develop games. Go out and buy the game, it is worth it.

I think this must be a universal price drop, because I saw it for the same price at Best Buy this past weekend. I think they had the DVD "special edition" version for the same price as well, but don't quote me on that...

ID hardly deserves our money. They wait years to release a new game and it ends up being just another AVERAGE fps.

I wouldn't pay full price, by any means. But the $19.99 price tag levels out the fact that the game didn't receive great reviews.

I bought this at Target during the Black Friday sale. This is an even better deal. Get the SE though, as it includes a remade version of Quake II and it's two expansion packs, all using the Quake 4 / Doom 3 engine. I bought the regular edition, unfortunately.

no it does not include remade versions of Quake 2, it includes the older versions.

What kind of machine do you need to run this beast? I guess I shouldn't even think about it, since Doom 3 chugged on my machine (P4 2.4G, 512MB ram, GeForce 5900).

I, for one thank God for the existence of BT. If it weren't for BT, I would have wasted $50 on Quake 4 back when it first came out. Instead of buying it, I decided to download it first, and sure enough, it sucked on various degrees.

I too sometimes use this method (do to lack of money). But you should just say you "played the demo" :whistle2:D

I download most of my movies, music and tv shows. However I do support game developers and I buy all of my games, with the exception of torrenting one if the demo doesn't work (and the full version has a patch that might make it work, before I spend cash on it).

And I also love having a large collection of PC games. I guess I'm a collector at heart. And programmers don't get paid enough.

When I have cash I am going to pick this up, I want to play it online so I will have to pick it up. :)
