Quantity restrictions for Amazon orders

Does Amazon apply quantity restrictions over a specific period of time?

For example, if I were to preorder Uncharted 4, the initial cart page allows you to add as much as you can but then at final checkout the true limit is 3 per account.  I had placed an order for 3 copies awhile back and it appears that it let's me add another 3 copies today.  So it makes me think that you can purchase a set amount within a set period of time (i.e. 3 copies every month).

I'm trying to figure out if there's any ban issues with ordering 6 copies over 2 months.

Based on my experience, the only time you get warnings for quantity restrictions is if you buy across multiple accounts to surpass the restrictions. I think standard quantity restrictions reset every week (7 days), that has been my personal experience with in-stock items and as long as I'm just buying on one account it's never been problem. It'll be interesting though if they'll change their policy now with the 20% discount.

The limits seem to reset at least in a 2-week at the worst case, though I believe it is a rolling week from the last copy purchased.

Unless you get an email from [email protected] talking about quantity limits for an item, you don't need to worry about the situation.
