I keep seeing these sweet deals on PreOwned games through GameFly. I really have no interest in renting games, so I've never really given much thought to the service. But a lot of these used game prices have caught my attention. So I was wondering, if you do GameFly's 10-day trial, are you able to purchase games from them during the trial period? I was thinking of starting a trial, buying a bunch of used games, then cancelling before the 10 days is up. Does this work?

Also, are they're used games generally in good condition? Complete packaging? Any security sticker nonsense like Blockbuster? Thanks for any help you can give.

Unless something has changed recently, you do not receive the used game discount until your are a paying memeber.

I just saw that they had used games too...Hot Shots Golf Fore looks great for $16.99, however I wonder if it is complete. And since they are previous rentals, I questions how god the conidtion is.

As far as the condition goes, here is gamefly's personal stance:

How "Buy it" Works:

Game is sent with original case and manual via first class mail. Most games arrive within 5 business days.

All our Pre-Played games are thoroughly inspected and certified to be playable. Pre-Played game purchases are final.

From Cheapy's other thread:
One thing I'll be mentioning is that it seems there is no longer a difference in used game prices if you are a rental subscriber or not. Me no likey.
I am a bit confused now... can non-subscribers purchase games from them at all? Or can they buy, but at a higher price that what they initially show on the page?

For example, I see MLB Slugfest for $9.99. I assume that a non-member would have to pay more than that (if he can even purchase from them at all; I'm not really sure how it works). Is this correct?

And based on Cheapy's quote up there I am a bit confused... do non-subscribing schmucks like me get to buy their cheap games now, or what?

The are all complete as the manual and box as do not ship out to rental customers. I purchased about 10 games from them during the holiday free shipping sale, and all were in good condition with either no scratches, maybe some dust, or very light scratches.

Non-subsribers can purchase used games by getting a buying account, but they will pay roughtly $1-4 dollars (it varies from one game to others) more per game than subscribers. What you see is what it is, prices display differently depending on whether or not you are a rental subscriber

:whistle2:( I am logged in but now I can't get past the "You have requested to purchase a Pre-Played
copy of" screen! I click "Next" and nothing happens. However, if I don't log in, the "Next" button seems to work. But then it asks for an email address, it won't let me proceed because the addy is already in use (by me!).

Is this a common problem? I've tried both IE and Netscape and the same thing happens.

EDIT: it was pointed out to me in a different thread that this issue is a bug in their signup system. If you exit their signup thing before completeting your order, it screws everything up. You are basically SOL unless you have a different email to sign up under.
