I am in the process of making a payment by mail. Shoul i send a money order or cash? Or what could I do to prove i have paid somebody incase they try to scam me?

thanks.

I usually deal with Money Order. And there's not much you can do if someone scams you. That's why we deal with a feedback system here, so we know who is trustworthy and who isn't.

postal money order (buy at Post office) I believe they can check to see if it was ever cashed. I might be wrong though. Keep reciept for the money order and send it with a signature confirmation. They have to sign to receive it that way.

Really though, you can usually tell who's legit and who's a scammer. I really haven't seen any scammers on CAG aside from Iloveapplesduh or whoever that guy was. Don't worry too much - it's safe.

send a money order, dont ever send cash in the mail
i recently got a money order from the post office and everything was just fine
90 cent fee for the money order

scsg75 is correct on the postal money order thing. If they scam you after cashing that I believe you can file mail fraud charges.

I woudln't bother with signature confirmation unless you're sending a pretty heavy MO as I think that's a semi-pricey service. You could do DC, but if they claim to not get it, you just file a lost money order claim with the post office and if they actually did cash it their ass will be nailed.

If you send cash you have absolutely no way to prove anything. Neither side does. Very bad idea to deal with cash through the mail all the way around.

Anyone that insists on cash (i.e. won't take money orders) through the mail is probably a scammer. Doesn't seem to be the situation here, but something to keep in mind.

I have made 2 transactions using cheapassgamer.com In the first one I received cash and on the other I sended cash, they were both succesfull. Now I am going to start to use the postal office money orders.
