Questions about buying used psp go

m_mcgover

CAGiversary!
Hey, I am considering the purchase of a used psp go. If I were to buy a used one off of craigslist, what are my options with the games that are already loaded onto the psp go?

Can I transfer them off onto my PC with media go?
Do I still get the 5 download option with the games?
Or, am I stuck with the games on the psp go and cannot really remix other media onto it (without permanently deleting them)?
Are the games tied to the psp-go somehow, or to a PSN account?
If I were to rename the psp go's nickname, would the games stop working?

Any description of how ownership of these previously downloaded digital games is managed in a used psp-go sale is appreciated!

Thanks

Guessing from the PSN behavior on a PS3, you may be able to keep the games already loaded on the PSP GO given that the account that the games that were bought under isn't deleted. Think PS3 game sharing. This also allows you to continue to use the PSN store and purchase games under your own account.

So, I'm assuming, you could just type in your own PSN information, and given the old account remains on the device, you should be able to have your cake and eat it too.

Or, I could be dead wrong.

But would I be able to unload the other_owner's games off of the psp-to onto my copy of media-go? Or, would I need to keep them on the psp-go if I ever wanted to play them down-the-line?

Sorry if this is a basic question as I have not done a lot of PSN game downloading to this point...

i think you can delete games and just redownload them since you've already paid for them.

they go for 150 used at GS if you can find one

From the sounds of it, he is buying a used PSP Go that has games on it.

If I am correct, you would need the PSN account information that bought the games to re-download them if you deleted them from it.

Yes, georox has it correct. Used psp go with games already on it. I'll ask, but I bet I know the answer already...is there anyway to change the games over to my psn account?

If not, there is a revenue stream that Sony should take advantage of...kind of like becoming a Gamestop.

There is no way to change games over to your PSN account. If you ever delete the account that is already on there, you will never be able to download, or even play, those games again. Unless, of course, the guy also gave you his account info.

I guess Sony is greedy and wants user to have to pay full price, but you would think that they could act like Gamestop and allow users to transfer games to another PSN account for a fee. That way they give users some freedom to sell games they are tired of and they start to get some of that Gamestop used game dollars...

You call a company greedy because they want to make a profit for something they make?

Lets say you made a game, if people just bought used copies of the game after the initial sales you would so no more profit return, hence you would possibly go out of business.

Don't get me wrong i like the used market as much as any other CAG but get annoyed by how people don't understand simple economics.

I understand simple economics...I'm actually trying to help Sony earn more money! Surely there is a good market for used games as places like Gamestop, Gamecrazy, etc. are littered all over the place. Why wouldn't Sony want to get in on it? I'm thinking something like:

user1 is done with game and "sells it" to user2 for 50% of cost of new
Sony takes 15% of the 50% cost
user1 makes 35% cost of game
user2 buys for 50% cost
Sony makes another 15% on the sale.
All of this could be done in PSN dollars so no user can cash out.

The law of supply and demand would make sure that Sony would still see sales of new games when first released. They may not sell as many, but they could potentially earn more if the game is resold many times.

No, the minute the user deletes any of the games they're gone. Unless, he's kind enough to leave you his log-in information (highly unlikely).

You may get a good deal on the system by buying used, but Sony will make its money when you have to repurchase all the content, and of course Gamestop makes money by selling the used system with a high markup. The only semi-loser here is the consumer. I hate the all digital content idea.

149 used at Gamestop mint condition. no games loaded but whatever.

games stay on there unless deleted . you cant play games unless your logged in as the user who bought them. you can load it with different users and users games just have to keep switching and activating users.

the Games are tied to the PSN account and not the psp
