I'll be speaking with them tomorrow, so if you'd like to get your opinions heard, post now!

One thing I'll be mentioning is that it seems there is no longer a difference in used game prices if you are a rental subscriber or not. Me no likey.
EDIT: This appears to be a bug with my account.

Ask them if they are planning to open an East Coast distribution facility...
It takes over a week for me to get a game here in Florida after sending one back...

Other than that - I love the service

Thanks, Cheapy

Its too easy to buy games.... Make it harder... 2 clicks and its done.. I am going broke here...

Anyways, I am still getting the lower prices on used games when I am logged in to GF. They still seem to have lower prices for subscribers.

Hmm..can you provide a specific example (game title)?

My only real comment is that the lack of an East Coast distribution center is the only thing keeping me from subscribing. I'm a member of Netflix, and having a two day turnaround is great. GameFly, however, from what I've heard has a seven+ day turnaround for those on the East Coast, and for that I'd rather just go to BlockBuster's Game Pass.

I emailed and asked about a special CAG discounted shipping rate since we bought a ton of stuff over Christmas.. they declined :(

While not a lot cheaper, they are coming up at a lower price as a subscriber.

Examples:

Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subscriber Price - $26.99, Non-Subscriber - $27.99
Mario Tennis - Subscriber Price - $34.99, Non-Subscriber - $36.99
THUG (GC) - Subscriber Price - $17.99, Non-Subscriber - $19.99
Call of Duty (Xbox) - Subscriber Price - $27.99, Non-Subscriber - $29.99
X-Men Legends (XBox) - Subscriber Price - $19.99, Non-Subscriber - $22.99

Hmmm...i am only getting the non-subscriber's price, even though I am logged in.
Must be a bug. I'll let them know.

I would tell them that even tiny specials go a long way. Free shipping on select titles from time to time is great. What about a promotion like one free shipping voucher included with every title bought during the month of May (as an example)? Little things like that. Drives up business, and the customer feels like he's getting a deal.

As a non-subscriber, I appreciate being allowed to buy used games from them, and appreciate the quality of the games (well, game) I've received from them. But I would need to hear that the turnaround time for a guy in Wisconsin is under three days for me to actually sign up.

I agree, I live in Michigan, and if I send out my games monday morning, I don't get new ones until the next monday.

I'd like them to give the same (lower) price to both subscribers and non-subscribers. Though if I like the price I'll buy, if not I won't so to me I don't really care what they do different for members or non-members.

Anyway my minor complaints/comments (all are around buying games since I'm not a member) are:

1. No shopping cart, so you have to buy each game one at a time.

2. The final checkout submission is fairly different from most other online sites I've shopped. I know of one of my friends who didn't realize he was doing the final submission until it was too late. It does say 'your card will be charged' but it just looks a lot different from the final screen most sites show you.

3. Doesn't let you cancel an order after it's placed. Not a big deal, but this would be nice, and most sites allow you to do this.

4. Maybe allow different shipping options (media, 1st class, overnight, whatever)

But, just want to add that overall I was extremely happy with my shopping experience with GF over their big sale a month ago. Definitely ask them if they plan to do this again or (hopefully) make it a regular thing. The more often the better in my book.

I would like a method or at least a FAQ on what to do if they make a mistake when you purchase a game (send wrong game, right game for wrong system, etc.) as well as develop a standard return process for all their customer service people to follow. I received the wrong box and manual for Psi-ops, and they told me to reseal the package, mark "refused" then I had to call them when it was returned so they could credit my account and it order for me to get the game I had to re-order it.

A method to report problems on purchased games online (similar to the system for the rental games) would be great as well.

Yeah, i'll second a shopping cart. I hate buying games one by one, I want to do multiple ones and be done with it.

As much as I would like this, I can understand where they are coming from, the lower price is not a right, it is a gift, a perk for being subscribed to their service.

When I am logged in, I can't get past the "You have requested to purchase a Pre-Played
copy of :" screen. I click "Next" and nothing happens. If I am not logged in, I get past that, but then I hit a wall because the email address I give is "already in use" (by me).

Anyone else have this problem? If it's a widespread thing then it is probably worth reporting.

And the lack of a normal shopping cart is a pain in the ass, as others have said.

I can understand it as well, but the man did ask for any suggestions we'd want passed along :)

As I said, if the price offered me is good IMO, I'll buy. If it's too high, I won't. The rental service is not worth it for me even if that means I miss out on a few discounts.

Yeah, those are ones that I would agree with. Also maybe add delivery confirmation to orders, that way you can track it. If they can't do it with rentals, at least do it with buying games.

I know it has been said before, but East Coast distribution is a must. I live in Georgia and it takes 4 to 5 day to recive and 4 to 5 to get it to them. Other than that there is nothing that could make it any better.
Awesome, I'm only a subscriber because of the price diff... I'm cancelling today.
Um, I mentioned a few posts up that I think its just a bug with my account.
Apparently there still are discounts for members.

Someone in another thread solved my problem, regarding purchasing games (not renting). If you exit their signup thing (where you enter the credit card info) before completing the order, you are basically fucked and you need to make a new account. What I did was go back to check my cart before completing the original order, only to find that there was no cart and I was unable to confirm any orders from that point on.

Eventually I just made another account using a different email, and completed the order. This is a pretty serious problem with their system, though!

They should ship there games UPS. I had ordered three games back when they had there sale and didn't get any of them. The refunded my card no problem but by that time the sale was over, I couldn't get the sale prices, and my account was banned.

Yea, but it used to be 3-5 bucks...at 1-2 bucks...whats the point?

So, did they have anything good to say for us CAGers? Probably not, or I guess you would have posted about it. But, I was curious, anyway.

Apologies if you made a new thread after talking with them, but I didn't see it.

The meeting went well and we are going to try and work on some decent promotions.

Nothing overly exciting to mention, although there will likely be some good news for East coast CAGs who are GameFly customers (or are considering becoming customers) later this year.

i think most company just use that as an easy way out. BBO said they would have more Places built in Jan but now they are saying sometime in 2005. Gamefly been saying the same thing last year about something on the east coast. I doubt there will be one if there is dont expect it till late 2005.

One werid thing is it took 5 days for a game i shipped back to them
SHIPPED FEB 7 they never got it too FEB 12
BUT
They shipped FEB 12 got it Feb 15 2 days WERID

Their shipping is terrible - I'm in Washington State and it takes 4-5 days each way for games to arrive.

Also 17th'ed on the shopping cart notion - it has prevented me from buying more games than I otherwise might have because I get tired of doing a different transaction for each title.

This is good news. Having a nationwide rental service with your distribution centers on one just side of the country makes for really lopsided service. It's great if you live near in or near California, but everyone else (especially the East Coast) loses out on a lot of playing time given the lengthy turnaround times. This has been a considerable issue for several years now, so it's about time management addressed the issue.
