This is really kind of ironic. Now the only way to truly measure political ad spending and activity is by the outcome of the elction.
By some estimates liberal 527's spent in excess of $400 million on various forms of advertising.
This was the net outcome.
1 red state turned blue: New Hampshire 4 EV's
2 blue states turned red: New Mexico and Iowa 12 EV's
Net loss of 8 EV's from 200 to 2004.
So basically moveon.org, the Media Fund, America Coming Together, ACORN etc.... paid American broadcasters $50 million for each EV lost.
Hmmmmm, that was productive.
