So I just rememberd having an intrest in this game after seeing the trailers for it a while ago and holy cakes! Seems like no one bought this game at all in North America!

The game got some pretty good reviews and the one I read on gamezone pretty much sealed the deal for me.

-Non-arcade handling (slowing down and breaks need apply); 1 career is restricted to manual transmission only with full race rules.
-2 career modes; challange mode (similar to GT license test); Time Trials; custom championships.
-Nintendo WFC up to 4 players; Friends Code; Match search; Leader Boards.
-Rumble Pak support.
-And of course the track editor (have a look at the videos)

Thats a crap ton for a niche DS game!

Fortunately ebgamestop online and amazon currently has the game for $19.xx (down from $29.xx) and man I want to get hands on this asap! But it seems like not a single ebgamestop store within 200 miles of me even carries the game (even ebay has only 2 non-store listings currently). WTH!?!?!? :whistle2:# :)edit: finally got a copy)

So anyone picked it up?

Hmm, I'm interested in this game (don't ask me why, but I'm really into realistic racers on the DS), so maybe I should pick it up before it gets really hard to find.

Yay!

Just picked this up from GS and so far not bad!

The handling is somewhere between Gran Turismo and Burnout. That means you'll still need to slow down and use breaks but the game isn't super punishing that if you make a mistake you're doom to get last place for a single mistake. Graphic wise it's pretty impressive for a DS game and I would say the amount of detial is equal to that of somewhere between the Saturn and PS1. Intrestingly, the game also has a replay mode after every race unlike some console racing games release today.

My biggest complaint for now is lack of the feeling of "traction" on the vehicles but there could be a fix for this...

To my surprise the game supports the DS Rumble Pak! :D

So hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on one and see if improves on that aspect any bit and perhaps feel an engine rumple or two.

I'll do a full write-up on the game later, since I've essentialy only done only 2 races in a front-wheel drive Opel.

:EDIT: Ahh snap the official small form fitting one on play-asia is fricken expensive! Almost $30 shipped! I might just forget about that and pick up big ones or the 3rd party ones for a heck lot cheaper...

Back from the dead!

Well looks like a "sequel" is in the works. Link with screens.

By the looks of the screens it seems to be more gear towards the "tuner" import crowed. Although I don't know if the game will offer any tuning at all.

Hopefully it's still being developed by Firebrand games and it won't be a throwaway DS "conversion" unlike it's predecessor. But by the looks of it it seems to be using the same graphic engine as Create & Race.

On yea, I finally did grab the 3rd party rumble and dang it's still loud as heck! Although playing with a headphone helps dissipate the buzz a lot and really improves on the experience. You can feel things like track bumps and breaking. Oddly enough you don't feel and rumble or buzzing when you crash into a wall.
