Rare Replay $26 via Amazon with Prime

That's interesting. On the Xbox Reward site, in the MyMissions section, if you click on the "pre-order your games now," a new window will pop up, with items available for pre-order. The 1st item in the 10th row, is Rare Replay. That's how I pre-ordered it last night. Now it doesn't say you'll get 15k reward points, but neither does Halo 5, which is one of the 4 games listed. Maybe it doesn't apply to that game. If that's the case, I hope we still get the $10 gc.

It ultimately boils down to the email on the account you use to pre-order the game. If you use an account with an email associated with an Xbox Live identity, you would get the 15,000 reward points. If you use an account with an email that is NOT associated with an Xbox Live identity, you get the $10 pre-order bonus.

EDIT: I just saw the Twitter comment, and now I'm confused too. :)

So I'm wondering how they can say it's pictured games only, but then the text clearly says "you can pre-order your Xbox One or Xbox 360 through Microsoftstore.com and earn 15,000 Rewards Credits for each pre-orderable game".  In my copy of the email, at least, I see 4 pictured games, all for Xbox One.  So it'd be kind of dumb to claim to offer a bonus on 360 preorders if no 360 games are eligible.

Oh well.  I went ahead and ordered the Rare Replay anyway -- if I don't get the 15K rewards points I'll get the $10 pre-order bonus, either way that's better than the GCU discount (my usual source for new games)

 
For best possible results, maybe go through the rewards site, instead of directly going to the MS Store.
As long as your email address on the MS Store order matches the same email address used by your XBL Rewards account, it should be automatic with it being approved. That's what the T&C has said on the emails I have about it:

Important note: Make sure to use the email associated with your Xbox Live Rewards account when you place your order through Microsoftstore.com, as that will confirm delivery of your Rewards Credits once your pre-order ships. Xbox Live Rewards members qualifying for the Offer will not also qualify for the $10 Gift Card promoted on Microsoftstore.com.

i think we will have to wait until the first game with this promo comes out, and see what happens, to know for sure.

Well, I just hit up the chat and, according to the rep, it is indeed any game that is applicable for the Rewards Points, provided the order is made with whichever e-mail is tied to the XBL Rewards.

Guess I'll pull the trigger and hope for the best.

So you do or don't have to pre-order from Microsoft store, those tweets don't clarify it for me.
This is a Microsoft Store pre-order offer, so yes. You may possibly be able to also pre-order directly on your Xbox but I believe the promo takes you straight to Microsoft Store.

I'll probably end up taking advantage of this offer. I didn't get a chance to do the trade in deal last week so this is the next best thing. Too bad the online store doesn't accept the in store gift cards as I still have a bunch from the trade in deal before.

They just emailed me saying there was a problem with my payment method which is BS
Not yet, but by any chance have any of you 2 ordered using the $10 code from the Golden Crisp offer? I canceled my original order, & placed another one, with the $10 code. I used Paypal, & I've read that after 7 days, Paypal auto drops the charge. It shows up as pending on my CC.

Yes i used the code and i used a credit card that i always use.
Then if you used your CC directly, there shouldn't be a problem, unless there really was one. I assumed you've checked to make sure there's no problem. If it's them not liking people using those codes for pre-orders, then that's messed up. There's nothing in the fine print that says discount codes aren't valid for pre-orders, afaik.

I also got a payment method error just now. Tried two different CC that I have on file with them. I just used one of them on a digital purchase days ago, bit neither were being accepted for Rare. Switched to Paypal and it seems to have worked. This was without a cereal promo, btw.

It could just be an issue on their end. Still wouldn't explain why a pre-order that was already placed was cancelled, unless there was an issue with the card.

I called the credit card and they said they did not decline anything. I even used it at the gas station this morning.
 
I got a cancellation email too, even though I just used the same card a few months ago on the MS Store, so I just put in a new order.

We'll see what happens.

 
I am never ordering from MS Store again.

First time I place the order with Paypal, they couldn't verify my account for whatever reason. I canceled the order and placed it with my debit card. Just got an email that they can't verify my card. I tried using the chat service to cancel the order, its been nearly 40 minutes and I still haven't canceled the order. Now they are telling me to call.

Called them, waited 5 minutes, did all the BS verification, transferred to another department. Waited 10 minutes for someone to pick up, did the BS verification again, the guy can't find the order. Long 5 minute hold. Transfered to another department because that was the digital sales department. Waited on hold 5 minutes, phone hangs up. I call them back, I hit 0 a few times to get customer service, they hang up. I try calling again, I get a message saying "you a dialing a number that is unavailable from your calling area" as if my number was blocked. Call from a second number, I get some stupid ass offer for health insurance (I don't know, I called 1-877-MY-MS-STORE), I press 0, hangs up, blocked the number again. Call another number on the site, I wait I wait I wait, I hear "I will be forced to disconnect this call", hangs up AGAIN! Called, pushed some other number combination, waited for a call back. 15 minutes later, got a call back, they transferred me to another department. Got some nice lady this time, put me on hold for a couple minutes. Came back, muttered something, phone hung up. This is unreal, over two hours to cancel an order.
 
I am literally going to not respond for 10 days so they just cancel my order. This is absolutely ****ing ridiculous.
 
Going to BestBuy.com to order this. Microsoft Store will never get my ****ing business again.

anybody know how to check your xbox live rewards email? it just logs in automatically and i dont see any kind of account management. it seems like my microsoftstore.com, xbox.com and xbox live rewards are all the same account, but i cant tell for sure. i want to make sure i get these $15 rewards.

 
I'm guessing this is their way of getting out of honoring the $10 rewards. I got the payment declined email, called my bank they said they have no record of a transaction from ms period.

I took a screen shot of my credit card charges, with the pending charge. When I went to do the same with Paypal, I noticed that the charged was canceled. This is just bad. This wasn't a glitch, or a error. I never had anything like this happen, ever. I don't know if I call now, or tomorrow morning.

Edit - No cancellation e-mail yet, & the order status is still "order in process," so it could still ship. I still have some doubts though.

I got the cancellation e-mail today and I didn't even do the $10 Cookie Crisp promo.  Went right to best Buy website and pre-ordered it there instead. Won't pre-order anything from the MS Store again after this

 
Do the 360 games that come with it need the disc to be in the tray to run? I can understand why it would for all the older games, but have been wondering this
Don't see how they could run without the disc unless they were installed using codes.....which they aren't.

Mine shows "In Process" on my page. I've checked my bank account and MS successfully charged my debit card and the money has come out of my account. I ordered it through the promotion on Xbox Rewards where you get a $15 credit, too.

 
I ordered the game a few days using the $10 off, I got charged for my item yesterday. Haven't received any shipment notice yet. I'll probably log in and see what it says.

 
Had second order placed over the phone and again got an update paymemt email . Today I placed an order with the same card for a 25$ xbox live card which was processed without issue . So I call again and the guy is basically bs'ing me telling me to call my bank even after I explained to him a new order went through fine . Definitely seems like they're trying to avoid dishing out the bonus credit on pre orders placed with the golden crisp coupon.
 
I didnt even use the golden crisp coupon, and got screwed on this deal. First and last time I ever buy anything from MS store. The only reason I even ordered it from them instead of using gcu was the $10 back.

This sounds about par for the course for Digital River/MS Store online.  I swore them off two Christmas ago when it took six weeks to sort out an order where they only sent me half of it.  The worst part is if they end up charging you and you reverse the charge on your credit card because they don't ship you what they should or honor a discount/deal they can ban your Xbox Live account if you used the same one you play with on your system.  So if you used your normal MS account, be very wary of doing things behind the scenes, despite how painful going through them is for getting issues resolved.  It took me days of not getting responses via email, people disconnecting, having to validate security over and over and finally they just credited me back the charge instead of honoring the deal they had advertised.

I'd bet on orders getting processed, no pre-order bonus credit given and so basically everyone gets to pay full price for the game.  Dispute the charge at your own risk.  I learned my lesson a long time ago and will never do business with their online store again.  I don't like them having so much power to hold over my transaction, and I definitely don't enjoy hours on the phone trying to get someone to fix it.  Never again.

 
Had problems authorizing payment so updated to PayPal. No cancelation yet and didn't use any cereal box codes.
 
Microsoft has authorized the full payment on my card but no shipping notices yet. Honestly I don't care if the game gets canceled or not because I can always drive an extra 10 minutes to a GS after work on tues. Did not use any promo codes, I ordered it pretty much either the day or like 1-2 days after it went up.

Plus I wouldn't have to wait the extra shipping days to get the game.
