I think you got ripped off. I configured a very similar system (model/cpu/ram/hdd/gpu) to that on Dell.com for cheaper than 1033.97 and that was without any coupons. I hope you didn't actually pay that price.

I matched things pretty close and the total was around $1000. I didn't keep the exact spects. What are you using this thing for?

I bought a similar machine this week for half the price, but with a smaller hard drive (80gb) and less memory (512ddr2). Same processor though.

I'd suggest other sites for coupons if you need one.

laptops arent standardized like desktops...what brand was this, what other stuff did it come with...any extra perpherials? You can get core duo 2 laptops for under 1000 dollars. A lot of the cost of laptops goes to customer service and the weight/screen/looks, not just pure power and speed like desktops.

It is obviously a Dell...
it includes the 3 year warranty, and an extra battery
With a 3 yr warranty and extra battery, then it's not too bad. I remember when Dell had the $750 off coupons a year ago, I bought an Inspiron 6000 (which is the same as the E1505 now) with Centrino 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM, 60GB HD, ATI X300, and WUXGA (1680x1050) 15" LCD with 1 yr warranty for $940 taxed and shipped. So I dont think you did bad at all, you'll survive college with it that's for sure.
