Real Pokemon

Oops sorry, that is a friend of my wife that drew them, my wife still is working on her skills. The only pokemon she draws look just like that in the game. She focuses more on griffins and such. Though she is artistic, she still has time to learn more techniques, but her origami skills make up for it
 
Incredible! I would love to see more. I could imagine how great a game or cartoon would be if it took this slightly more "adult" look to it and had an original story to go along with it.
 
No. I think pokemon would lose a little bit of it's "magic" if some attempted to do it in more gritty, realistic way. One of the big facets of Pokemon that makes it so appealing is the clean, pure childlike sense of wonder, and the clean safe worlds that seem full of adventure, yet devoid of danger.

Not to mention, there's no telling if they enjoy spending time in the pokeball. I'd hate to call it out and lunge for my throat.

Thats EXACTLEY correct. Haven't you ever heard of the Childrens Crusade? Anyway, whoever drew that has some amazing artistic skillz. Tell them to keep up the good work.
