Reasonable Portable Monitor

I'm looking for a portable monitor that has no input lag and is relatively cheap because I'm a cheap ass gamer just like the rest of you. I don't care if it's in HD or not. I want to be able to play Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur V while I'm waiting for hours at school.

You will need to find a 13" CRT to fit those demands. I'm serious about that. Once you go into the small LCD range you are not going to find a single monitor with no input lag. It's inherent. Now, little lag is a different thing and you should state what you define as portable.

Honestly, seeing what you are wanting, why not just get a Vita and utilize remote play (if it truly does that this time)? I think that would be your best bet. If you are "waiting" for hours at school - that implies you are lugging both a PS3 and a monitor of some form....along with anything for school. Yikes IMO....Vita sounds like a superior option there with far more portability.

I would also be lugging my arcade stick too. Not sure about the Vita. Sony's last handheld never interested me.

By portable I mean small enough for me to carry in a gym bag and not way a ton.

Any good cheap 24" screen should be fine. The real cost is the case to make this setup easy to move and setup anywhere.

You can get something like this off the shelf: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/G155-Portable-Gaming-System-Announced-Xbox-360-PS3-32853.html

But I'd be inclined to customize a Pelican case for something with a bigger full HD screen and other goodies. At my job we do this sort of thing with network equipment we set up on a short term basis for events. We have a 'NOC in a box' (NOC = Network Operations Center) we've been evolving for several years.

If you're looking for something really cheap, try to get a used portable DVD player that supports TV-IN. You may have to buy a cheap generic splitter, costs like $3 with shipping or less. That's what I do and it works, not the best quality though but then again my DVD player is probably at least 4 years old or so. Not sure how good the new ones are, regardless it works but typically the screen size won't be larger than 8 inches.

The answer you are looking for is NONE. The only TV's with no lag that small are old CRT tvs. ALL LCD tvs have lag, even the top of the line ones still have 2ms of lag. Lag is INHERENT in ALL LCD tvs, until OLED becomes standard as OLED is said to have no input lag. However there's questions on if that technology can work in big tvs. Also an OLED tv the size you want is not cheap.
