This might not be entirely gaming related but it still kind of is:

Yesterday I received a phone call from ATT and they were telling me they want to give me a U-verse plan for $20.00 per month for 1 year and then it will go to my current 6mb price plan, which is $46. They say all the equipment is free and they will give me a free modem. I really want the deal since i basically have to watch my network usage ever since the 150gb limit. The uverse 250 limit would really help but the deal seems too good to be true. Have anyone here being offer the same plan as well? I am from Chicago, IL area btw

Anyone else receive phone call like this?

never received a phone call personally however I've received some offers in the mail that are similar to yours. This is in central california btw.

They would mail you, but never heard they would call.
Be careful for scams out there.

I worry about it too by they also know how much exactly we pay for phone bill as well. I told them to call me back monday so I can do some research on it.

#1 thing: ask them for their phone number to call them back with their name and ID#. if they are scammers, they will either hang up or make some BS excuse that it's a one time offer take it or leave it.

A better option is to call AT&T's direct number from their website or an invoice and ask them about the offer you received, and that you'd like to sign up for it (they'll usually bend if they sense a hint of interest). If they can't repeat the offer, then I wouldn't do it because AT&T's customer service is generally some of the worst.

My parents insist on a landline service and AT&T is their only option, and billing issues are pretty common. There's one at least once every 4-5 months and getting them resolved requires spending hours on hold.
