I just got back from BB this morning and I noticed at the front of the store there were games that had small red dots on them. One of the games I wanted had a dot so I picked it up and took it to the register. It rang up as normal priced. Any ideas what the dot meant?

Sounds like they're about to mark them down or something. A local one has a bunch of markdowns, but the prices are all on the games and they have to mark them down at the register. So i'd check back at that store in a day or two.

Well damn. They had a ton of games with the red dot on them too. I happened to go in there looking for Folklore and I was surprised to see that it wasn't stock. So I started walking around and then I saw this small case full of all of these games with red dots on them, and low and behold, there was Folklore. It was marked with the normal $59.99 price so I figured it would be changed at the register or something. Of course it wasn't, but I may go back tonight and ask someone about what the deal is cause there are some games I have been waiting to pick up for a long time marked with the dot.

The reason I didn't ask before I went up to the register is because they had literally opened like 10 minutes before I walked in and NOBODY was around. I mean I saw one guy stacking boxes but he was near the TV aisle and I figured he wouldn't know anything about it. And from personal experience I know that the register people don't know anything at all because I used to work at BB a long, long time ago. It's not their fault because it's not their job to know. Hopefully I can score some deals later tonight.

one Best Buy I went to had certain stuff marked 50% off, any game with the yellow price sticker on it. But there was a sign stating that. maybe your store was using red dots instead. and my stuff had to be manually overrided. i got ddr supernova, game only for $20 and valkyrie profile 2 for $15. they were marked $40 and $30 respectively.

If a game has red dots it means that it caught something from the "Mature-rated" games.

That's why games should always come with a plastic sleeve on them.

Well I just called the store and someone told me that it was only 10% off of the games. However, he wasn't from the media (games) department either. Yes, I asked for the media department but he kept asking if he could answer my question. I guess I'll be calling back later when doofus is off from his shift.

Some stores, such as Target, use dot stickers to indicate future stocking of a game. One color means the game is discontinued at the store and they will not be getting any more copies in while another color means more are on the way. At least that's what the Target employee told me when I asked him about the dot stickers on the price tags of some of the games.
