Red Steel glitches?

Hey, I don't know if this is a glitch or not, but I'm at Angel's massage parlor (roughly 6% into the game) and I cant seem to draw/pickup any weapons. I'm forced to run through the bad guys but I keep dying. Im confused as hell. Am I suppose to dash this level through without a weapon? That doesn't make sense. At this point I'm convince I gotta glitchy copy, cuz i decided to restart a new game, and I got stuck at a different level all together.
 
Reviewers have reported that the game is buggy, but I have never experienced a bug.

I'm assuming you tried pressing 'left' on the D-pad right?
 
I guess you found a bug then. :(

I think there was an option on the pause menu to restart the level or restart from checkpoint or something. Tried that?
 
So I just played the level. I'm assuming you mean the level where the lady at the desk talks to you and tells you that Angel will see you shortly.

Right after that initial conversation, you should immediately pull out your gun automatically...

You know, you could try running up to some guys and shaking the nunchuk to bring out your katana (thus killing the nearby enemy). Maybe you can steal a gun from a fallen enemy and get back to normal that way. When you get close to an enemy, you should see an on-screen picture of a katana, which is your indication that you can whip out your sword and kill them. Try that.
 
omg... all i had to do was press the left D button to pull out a weapon... i thought i pressed every button and did everything there is to do. feeling like a total dumbass now
