The policy on this needs to be changed, Is it true you can't even return it even if it's sealed? Some guides are not shrink wrapped when sold new...

I dunno.... just too hard to tell you didn't use it, and 99% of books don't come shrinkwrapped, unless maybe it's a collector's guide? It's up to the manager.

My gamestop lets me return a guide even if it was originally not sealed. Then again I do know the manager and assistant manager and all the workers seem to know me. ;)

Judging by your 360 avatar you're a female. No surprise that they know you ;). Seems like every GS employee will let just about any female do anything in the store.

I've returned guides before and I'm a fat, pasty skinned white guy. If they give me crap about returning them, I just point to the back of the receipt to where it says I have 30 days.

I just returned a copy of the Star Ocean Last Hope International guide about a month ago(which they just pennied last week).
Why would you return a guide anyways other than to try and treat Gamestop like a lending library?
A lot of guides these days are really fucking shitty and even missing or having wrong information.

That's always been the case, as guides are often written based on alpha or beta builds, or even from the import release, which often differ, sometimes drastically, from the final US release. That's why I don't even bother with strategy guides anymore, any help I need can be found on the internet.

I'm a collector myself when it comes to RPG guides, and yeah nowhere on the back of the receipt does it say no returns for guides.....

Because I was buying that guide for someone else on CAG and I didn't even want the POS for myself? Because otherwise I'd be out $21.19 in credit if I had your mentality?

I wasn't going to eat a $21 loss of credit because the person changed their mind or bought the guide elsewhere. No fuckin' way.

Thats why when you buy for someone its money up front unless you know there is no shortage of buyers

Actually I am not a female. I just really like Serah from FFXIII. :)

Also note the user title of FANBOY. ;)

That's how I should have done it, but I didn't. Either way I got to return the guide for my credit back and that's all that matters to me.:D

Not a bad way to convert credits into real cash...if the deal doesn't backfire like it did on you. Otherwise it's a win-win for both parties.
