Picked this up awhile back for Wii for $20 at Wal*Mart I think it's a good game, which surprised me. It's published by Mastiff, which has been off the radar for awhile, but does good games.

I would've gotten to it sooner, but I'm just cracking through my backlog right now.

Think Police Trainer in the arcade. You use lots of real world weapons to shoot at targets. I only played about 15 minutes of it. The controls were really good, and like most gun games on the Wii, it has a pointer on the screen that I don't think you can shut off.

If you like gun games, are a gun afficiando, or a hunter, I think you'd dig this game... Give it a try - it's only 20.
Looks fun, might pick it up. Never saw the game at my local Walmart.
Look in places where you're less likely to find games, or out of the way stores like Shopko, Pamida, Fleet Farm, if those are near where you live.

This is going to be VERY YMMV but I know my Best Buy had a copy of that game on clearance for $5.99. Someone finally bought it about two weeks ago. I think in most stores it has been repackaged as a Value game for $14.99 or $19.99...so like I said...very YMMV.

With all the other "light gun" / on rails type games on the Wii, is this even worth picking up?

Seems like there's already:

Counter Force
Dead Space Extraction
Dino Strike
Ghost Squad
Gunblade NY & LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
House of the Dead Overkill
Jurassic: The Hunted
Link's Crossbow Training
One of the modes in Medal of Honor: Heroes 2
Real Heroes: Firefighter
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

and of course all of the hunting games

Dino Strike

I knew about all the other ones, but not Dino Strike.. Hmmmm.. Is it any good? Where do you get it?

There's so much hunting and shovelware games on the Wii that it's hard to sift through everything, but I want to find a hunting game to enjoy... Can anybody recommend one?

I haven't actually purchased it, but its available on the usual suspect of websites. Its also out under another name in a bundle that includes a gun. I made a thread about it a while ago, so you could search for that if you care.

As far as hunting games go, I haven't played any but I think some of the Cabela's games have decent reviews and they sell well enough to churn out more each year (in gun bundles, no less).

In the Cabela's branding, with the assistance of Wikipedia, there's:
Big Game Hunter
Big Game Hunter 2010
Dangerous Hunts 2009
Dangerous Hunts 2011: Special Edition
Legendary Adventures
Monster Buck Hunter
North American Adventures 2011
Outdoor Adventures 2010
Trophy Bucks

and upcoming Survival: Shadows of Katmai and Big Game Hunter 2012
